Hi Bobby!
I place the CF rod into the corners. It stays do to being under tension.
Then i hold the gusset into the corner, like it would be glued in, except it is displaced upward, since the tube is in the way. Then i obtain a fine felt marker, and go on both sides of the rod, and mark the angle.
Then I eyeball drill the hole.
Hope this was not confusing!!

I guess a fellow who drills bones all day wouldn't be afraid of hand drilling those gussets. :beaten:

Robert, we have 7 pilots in our class next weekend!! it is going to be fun!! I hope I do not end up in number 7!! I will take 6 though!! Last weekend, my unknown was so ugllllyyyyyy!!!! OUCH!!! It was my 1st unknown ever. Try not to laugh too hard when you see me do it again next weekend.

Anyone know where I can see some Yak paint/cover schemes? Interested in seeing my options for the paint and cover!

Almost done with the cross-bracing. There are three more areas that need them. Once that is done, then tomorrow, I will glue in the remaining 4 spruce spars, and then it will be time to make the skins for fuselage sides.
Glueing carbon fiber to carbon fiber or to wood is tricky! Epoxy alone may not hold. You have to scuff the CF area, and use something like Hysol. After it cured over night, I cannot pull it out!! Pretty tough!

Very carefully..................:LOL_gif: (Sorry)

This Yak is looking AWESOME ! ! !:yesss:

Thank you for the compliment!!!
I am taking my time with it!
Let's see what happens.
I know extreme flight airplanes have carbon fiber stringers. I know that some may not like what I have done, but, I will do it my way!! I need all the help I can get with my landings!

The CF stringers should help with overall strength. Lots of ARF's are very weak along the bottom of the fuse; enough so that if you aren't careful when picking one up and using the bottom to support/balance the plane you can easily break or crack a couple of the stringers.

Your build is looking great. Thanks for taking the time to photograph/post your progress.
