Robert, we have 7 pilots in our class next weekend!! it is going to be fun!! I hope I do not end up in number 7!! I will take 6 though!! Last weekend, my unknown was so ugllllyyyyyy!!!! OUCH!!! It was my 1st unknown ever. Try not to laugh too hard when you see me do it again next weekend.
Those unknowns take a bit of getting used too, especially the nervousness! I'm sure you'll do great. I've flown once since your contest.

Your build is going great. I like your attention to detail and innovative approach.

The CF stringers should help with overall strength. Lots of ARF's are very weak along the bottom of the fuse; enough so that if you aren't careful when picking one up and using the bottom to support/balance the plane you can easily break or crack a couple of the stringers.

I have recent 1st hand experience with that. I dropped the tail when I was pushing my extra around the garage and my foot was under it halfway up the length of the fuse and snap! It broke one of the two stringers on the bottom. [emoji13]

Thank you Rex. Very nice compliment. I am taking my time with this one. I do about one step each day, as soon as I am done, i will snap a shot of what i did. If I am away from the house too long, I will get in trouble.

All the stringers are glued in (on the bottom of the fuselage). There is one more pair that needs to be glued on, which is in the front of the airframe and the top, to help make the front of it round. It is between F2 and F1.

I want to give a detailed idea about this build to others, and on this step, this will be discussed separately.

Now, after this cures, tomorrow, the next step will be to glue on that last stringer, then make the skins. Possibly on Wednesday, i will glue on the skins to the sides of the fuselage.

Good news, my father in law will be here Wednesday, so he will be able to help me with the build.

This is a minor point, but, if you look at LG2 and F2, where the stringers key in, is not in line.
In order to overcome this, I did not want to glue in two separate pieces. What I did, is something we do in orthopaedic surgery, in order to correct deformities of long bones, which is a closing wedge osteotomy or an opening wedge osteotomy.
In this case, i did a closing wedge. Meaning, i removed a small piece of wood, and bent the stringer, sort of like a greenstick, and then glued it in.

Cam, the opening/closing wedge cut is a cool tip and I can see where that can come in very handy at times.

LOL.........my thought process would have been........"wow, the stringer notches in F2 are not cut in the right place." Then I would have cut new notches that lined up to keep the stringers straight.
 
This area will be sheeted and that short segment is helping to shape the bottom. If it is moved in, it will create a different shape.
