See post #7....pulse line from carb to manifold cracked and broke (old tubing). The resulting landing in the hay field was not the greatest, but busted up the fuse way more that I expected. That plane didn't fly very well in my opinion, so I figured if I'm gonna put time into a resurrection, might as well do an airframe that does fly well.

Great job on this excellent 87!

I think the fuse is pretty much done and ready to cover. Sheeted the bottom sides and made a hatch cover for the can tunnel. Some minor work needed on the canopy latch tabs and rudder. Need to make a new cowl ring, mount the engine and get the cowling lined up, glued and mounted.

Got the Ole Powerhouse DL50 mounted up.

This is the better of the two cowlings I had....which was the one that went into the trees. Canopy is from my first SHP. So glad I hung onto all these pieces thru the years. Although both have some cracks, etc, they are minor and structurally sound. Starting to look like a plane!!!

I saw sticker placed on the rudder in the first pic and figured you had placed it after the crash ... guess it went on first and sealed the deal

Thanks and yes, I am....these 87" SHP's are just sweet flying planes. This'll be my back yard flyer and go-to "fun" plane. Hopefully it'll live awhile

Just have a talk with the "tree" people. Tell them it is not allowed to "snatch" your rides outta the air.
