Been staring at my poor timber… decided to take it down and start poking away at it. Found out that I was missing over half the 3mm bolts holding my landing gear aluminum support block in! That’s nuts. I think because it was loose is why it got so damaged from my soft tree landing.

Overall it’s not that bad, just going to take some time.

wow @AKNick when did you do that, it does not look to bad the motor firewall still looks good just a lot of sheeting and a few sections of bulkheads. Good time to do it cold out side.
Explain which bolts were missing not sure what you meant, just curious so that I can check to see if mine are ok.

Dude it's like 40F and all the snow is gone here!

The two aluminum 90deg brackets that's attached inside either side of the tunnel has about four 3mm bolts each that are screwed from the inside of the tunnel to the fuselage frames T-nuts. the second photo you can see my allen wrench and the longer 3mm bolt screwed in.

That happened about a year ago??

Ok it is 10 degrees Fahrenheit and about 2 ft of snow. It’ worse here than I Alaska .
I am going to have take a look at my Timber and see if I can see the bolts and check them. Thanks.

Here’s another pic of the landing gear aluminum support block.

Decided now is the best time to change out those whimsy 3mm T nuts to some HD ones like in the wing. Heated it up with a soldering iron to soften the glue and put it came with a little pressure.

Had some expired 5103 adhesive lying around from work that I used up to glue the T Nuts in and also under the aluminum extrusion. They are married for life now lol

And if progress was at all lacking, I had a little perk from my coworker who just finished his 164th batch of KÖlsch and gave me one to try out. Mmmmmmm. Lets just say I want to fund him to make me some more ha ha
