    Assembly log. EF 104 Extra.

Yup! I noticed that! Very nice! It's important to have the pushrods connect to the horn at the same distance from the hinge line on both servos. It's good they have that measured already. I'd suggest taking a quick measurement before you glue them in. I needed to do a little shimming and sanding...

Fly Low In "Middle East" --Joe flies for the Prince of Dubai"

I believe it's the Prince's plane...so I'd imagine it's not polite to put stickers on someone else's plane.

3dbandit, I'm very interested in your aileron servo geometry. please post pics of what you end up with and how much servo travel you're getting each way! (I'm working on my 103 right now) Awesome stuff!

FAQ Setting up and programming multiple servos per surface; programming Hitec servos

below: us = nanoseconds From my research I've found this is not the case. With my 8FG on a new model with end points at 100 connected to a BLS157 I get ~42degrees of throw. With setting the end points to 140, I get close to 60 degrees each way. (58.8 actually...based on us calculations and...

Discussion What's a good first balsa plane?

If you can afford a 51" Slick...that's the ticket! My first balsa plane was a World Models Zero EP fighter...lol (I know that doesn't help) My first 3d balsa plane was a PA Extra 260 and I don't care for how floaty they are. The 51 was my second 3d balsa and it single-handedly made me a...

FAQ Setting up and programming multiple servos per surface; programming Hitec servos

Here's a link I have saved: http://www.aeroperfect.com/tips/cal/program_on-plane.html These guys have a spreadsheet that helps you estimate the Hitec programming numbers to account for a radio not having it's center exactly at 1500us.

FAQ Setting up and programming multiple servos per surface; programming Hitec servos

I wanted to point this out. There is a mis-conception that you should always have the arm at 90 degrees when a servo is at center. That is not always the case! Cody, I'm sure you're not suprised how many people don't believe me about this.

FAQ Setting up and programming multiple servos per surface; programming Hitec servos

I'll be eventually using Futaba BLS175s (I have one to play with programming already) 42% Blue-Box 8/16 Power Distro Tech-Aero IBEC 2 CC BECPros set at either 7.4~8V (haven't decided that yet) My goal is to use no mixing, no matching, and to have each aileron servo move the same amount. (as...

FAQ Setting up and programming multiple servos per surface; programming Hitec servos

Great post! 4th option is what I'm doing on my 103. Here's my problem with the Hitec Programmer...I wish you could program what it uses as center. You mentioned that it set center at 1500. Well, the two radios I have measured (A9 & 8FG) both of their center pulse widths were around 1515-1520...

    3DHS 58" Edge 540!!!

I have no doubt in Steven's talent. We all saw him do great at the Ohio Huckfest this year. I believe he won the one trick contest? I was just asking for some clarification. The 58 is at the top of my 'next plane' list so I'm curious. We're all friends here.

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

The planes that are stateside are the prototypes. They will be testing them and making changes as they need. The most important thing is that the designer is happy with it. (Scott Stoops) At that point, they will start production. If we go by past scenarios, 3DHS will open the preorders when...

    3DHS 58" Edge 540!!!

What other airframes are you comparing this to? I'm not saying I doubt you...it's just a rather bold statement...considering the 57 is absolutely amazing. I'm excited to hear that there is a better airframe then the 57 in this class. (and I;m very interested in why you think so) I'll even...
