I've had planes like that. It was almost a relief when they finally went in.

    Name this ARESTI figure

Since the OP's title says "name that figure" I say we name it the Ortho Formal. (formal as in bow-tie formal)

    2-stroke oil,what works,what doesn't

I don;t think you can go wrong with either Redline or Stihl Ultra. Many years ago, legendary engine guru "TiredOldMan" said they were essentially equal but gave Stihl Ultra the nod for heat tolerance. For me it's just easier to get the Stihl Ultra.

    2-stroke oil,what works,what doesn't

Use the Lawn Boy on your weed eater and the Amsoil for weed killer. Keep running the Stihl in your airplane engines.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Saturday was just perfect in every way. There were plenty of friends out flying, everybody laughing and having a good time. Flying through my 6th sequence and I realized the winter's rust had melted off, I wasn't thinking about what could go wrong with the plane, the sky and weather were perfect...

Yesterday was a great day to fly. Today is supposed to be even a little warmer. My buddy loves going to the field.

Pine Bluff Regional Park. About 35 miles North of Dumas on 65. Take the 65B exit towards downtown. The entrance to the park is right before the Courthouse. Come on out. You can fly the Sukhoi.

    Any Monokote users here?

In no way is that acceptable. Tower should have replaced all of it. I was lucky with mine.

    Any Monokote users here?

I just completed a recover project on a H9 SU26 using Monocote. Missile red and Jet white. I had absolutely no problems with adhesion, shrinking or finish. Even over open bays and curves it didn't develop but a few wrinkles and they ironed right out. I had to recover the top of one wing and man...

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

This verifies the gut feeling I've had watching Cam build his previous planes. It was his destiny to build a Carden. He has truly arrived.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I recovered the top of the SU26 wing this evening and put the pin striping down. I was able to remove the graphic with a little TLC and tugging but have a new one on the way so I stuck it on the trailer.

Hmmm. One of the stated "drawbacks" of Monocote seems to be getting it to stick down and get wrinkles out. I have to say, and I have used a bunch of Ultracote, that I had absolutely no trouble getting it to stick and getting out any wrinkles that showed up. I would maybe give the edge to...

Lol. It said "Geez, just shoot me now." I picked Monocote for two reasons. One, for it opacity and finish and two, for it's durability. Now I find out it that it sucks. I don't know though, this incident notwithstanding, I still think it's tougher than Ultracote.

That's the only thing I could come up with. The solder joint on the servo wire popping it. Usually though when you get a hole or rip there is covering flapping and some ripping. This is a clean hole with ragged edges. I'm recovering the whole top of the wing. No patches this early in the game...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I went out yesterday afternoon after finishing up work related commitments. It was about 60*, medium crosswind at my back, Blue skies and the whole place to my self to bear down and practice sequences. First flight, geez, do I even know how to fly? Landed to refuel and found a problem with no...

I don't think they "switched." My DA100 from 2002 had the same connector.
