JR 28x Official Release Interactive Site

One thing I haven't seen anywhere, does the radio have voice stuff similar to the Spektrum DX9? Tells you when you put it into high rates, or timer start, or counts down the timer, or flaps down, etc. All kinds of configurable voice actions. I miss that from the DX9. And the ease of...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

Funny, I just saw the ExtremeFlight one yesterday, scoped out their site's replacement parts for the Yak and didn't see it listed. Thought about calling them to see about it. But then when looking closer it looks like their cowl doesn't curve in as much as the 3dhs one, and I was afraid that it...

Looking for 60"ish precision/3D electric airframe

I'm curious to see QQ's new plane in person (The flexinnovations one above), but they sure aren't cheap. At 50-80 dollars more than the other 60" planes out there it's definitely a premium priced plane. I won't be taking a chance on it, I'll need to fly someone else's first and be blown away by...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

Does anybody know of anybody that sells some type of motor cover plate like the one pictured here? I would like to rotate that 90 degrees so that the air inlets would be over the twin cylinder heads, and then maybe build a baffle to direct the airflow over them better too. This is off of the 60"...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

Bit more progress on the Yak the last few days. Choke linkage done, throttle servo mounted and connected up. Fuel tank got mounted and connected up last night. IBEC installed. Need to grab a grommet or two to secure my vent line in the cowl, figure out the battery mount place to balance it and...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

There is a really good podcast from 3dhs where they spend about 15 minutes talking about the Yak 55 and it's flying characteristics. https://directory.libsyn.com/shows/view/id/39373# I think it's that one. They spend a good bit of time talking about the rolling characteristics specifically, as...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

I'm just going to run the EME stock exhaust, which is just side dump mufflers. I think the plane will have enough power with the EME70, power should be comparable to a single cylinder 60cc I think, and that ought to be plenty. If DA had announced the 2 into 1 header for the DA70 before I bought...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

I had an EME 60 that was installed in a different plane, was a nice running motor. Easy starting and reliable. Hopefully this will be the same! I tend to not keep planes more than a year, and the warranty on the motor from milehighrc is for 18 months, so I figure I should be pretty well covered...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

These aren't terribly exciting as all I've done is hang the motor, hopefully over the next few days I'll get the ignition mounted, throttle linkage connected up, and choke figured out. Gonna be too cold to fly this coming weekend, so I'm not in a huge rush to finish it all up. The included...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

Got the EME 70 mounted in mine last night, for any wondering it will fit completely within the cowl, no cutting needed for the plugs. I have about 3/4" clearance on the left side, and a bit more on the right. The choke linkage will be a bit difficult to get rigged up on it, but I'll probably use...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

I almost have mine done as well, the motor (EME 70 twin) arrives tomorrow. After reading about others needing more tail weight on here just now, I may go re-do the rudder servo and see if I can move it to the tail... I had heard these tended to come out tail heavy with a DLE-55, so I actually...

    DA-70 Exhaust

Typically canisters are a bit quieter. They also add weight. I don't know if they affect tuning much or not, a tuned pipe does. Tuned pipes are designed to add power in a particular range of the power band. Tuning gets more particular, and the pipe itself also needs to be tuned. (changing...

DYNAMITE Passport Duo 400W Dual AC/DC Charger

With that charger you can charge the 5s4500 packs at more than 1c. A 1c (1 hour) charge on 5s4500's takes amps. (4.5 amps * (4.2 volts * 5 cells)) = 94.5 watts. So that charger should be able to do a 2c charge on those 5s packs. Not bad at all, so you can knock out 2 packs in 30 minutes.

    WELL - Wha'cha Get??

Got an EME 70 twin to go into a new plane. Excited for it... never had a twin before, and the reduction in vibrations will be much welcome!

    20cc AJ Laser

The 3dhobbyshop 70" Velox isn't a bad choice, flies nicely with a 20cc motor, though will not be what you might call overpowered. But light, and nice flying, and plenty 3d capable. I've stuffed a dle-20 into a Revolver, fits ok, but the plane clearly isn't designed for it!

Your Opinion-This is not a "Which radio is best" thread!!!

Just an FYI... JR has Powersafe RX's for it's DMSS radios. http://www.jramericas.com/233813/JRPR03428/?pcat=298 I have one in a couple of planes. Works just like the Spektrum ones. Soft switch and all. They just don't picture those parts. As for the backwards compatibility, there was a very...

Yes, I still have it. I should probably post up some pics like I was supposed to a couple weeks back :) I'll do that tonight.
