    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

Some used to say to always breakin using a non synthetic oil, like lawn boy ashlesss, but others say to use redline all the way. I think it just extends the break in process by using redline and making it take 3-4 gallons instead of 1-2, so I expect I'll deal with it a while longer (the oily...

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

I posted a bit about the EME70 in the 3dhs 91" Yak 55 thread on giantscalenews.com, but I'll put it here too. So far I'm quite pleased with the motor. I got nine flights on it last weekend, which makes 14 overall. It was a tad lean from the factory, which amounted to it being quite hard to...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

It looks to be about 5" wide, and 34" long. I didn't pull the cowl, that was just measuring from the top, and could be off by just a tiny bit. Close enough for your purposes though hopefully?

Will do that for you tonight once I get home 49dimes.

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

I have an EME70 twin, similar to the DA. I put a 20oz tank on mine, and fly for 9:30 on it. I often land with only 3oz or so in the tank. 20oz is the smallest I would consider for the DA, and possibly a 24 or even 32 if you want to fly more than 10 minutes...

Connecting a temp sensor for telemetry

Yes, I have baffling directing the air from the front over the cylinders, but nothing towards the back to curve it back down around the backside. I'll be adding that in a few weeks I think.

Connecting a temp sensor for telemetry

that's what I wound up doing as well. Mounted on the back of one of the cylinders, not in the direct path of the airflow coming in the front. I've been seeing temps in the 250-315 range with it right there. Got nine flights on it this weekend with the telemetry installed. May need to buy a...

Connecting a temp sensor for telemetry

I could do that, but curious as to the reason why you would do that? To me it seemed most logical to mount the sensor where it wouldn't be getting cooling air directly on it, though I suppose moving the probe to the bottom/back of the cylinder is much the same, not much air there either and it...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

Got 9 more flights on the Yak this weekend. Have about a gallon of gas through the EME 70 now, and she is finally breaking in and getting easier to start. First 10 flights or so on it were a chore to get the motor running. Flip until it pops, choke off, flip a few times and it fires very...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

We did one down here in Little Rock last year, and it was pretty successful. We had about 20 people sell stuff, and had over 150 attendees I think. Was a good event. Was also supposed to be an annual thing, unfortunately the guy that organized it got sick and died shortly after (cancer I think)...

What is an expected motor temperature and too hot temperature?

Yeah, the EME recommends 35:1, my other motors I was running it at 40:1. Saw a video just the other day from the guys at da who say redline burns so clean that it can be ran anywhere from 30:1 to 40:1 just fine. So I figured I'll run at 35:1 as recommended in the EME manual.

What is an expected motor temperature and too hot temperature?

Temps today were 45-55 when I was doing my testing. It gets above 100 here in the summertime, so having the telemetry on it now should be very good to keep an eye on things with. I'll modify the alarming I have on the telemetry to not squawk at me unless the temps get up above 325 or so I...

What is an expected motor temperature and too hot temperature?

Great! I won't worry too much more on it then. Using redline now at 35:1, used to run stihl, but redline seems to be the hot ticket these days.

What is an expected motor temperature and too hot temperature?

Quick question... What temps should I expect to be seeing on a properly running/properly cooled gas motor. Specifically this is an EME 70 twin cylinder motor. I have it mounted up to a 3dhs 91" Yak 55. On the fifth flight the motor quit on me, and I suspect it was due to overheating. It's...

    Logic mixes with JR XG14

I think it's possible to do via the use of the software switches. I read something on the XG11 thread that somebody did that. But I have never tried it personally.

I actually enjoy building from a kit, but I absolutely hate the covering part, so that keeps me from doing very many builds.

    Lipo Disposal

A few years back when researching proper lipo disposal both ThunderPower and FlightPower recommended a salt water bath after discharging. I cannot find it on their sites now however. I did find this article as well as a million more just like it...

Connecting a temp sensor for telemetry

I'm just starting to experiment with telemetry settings a little bit, and wanted to ask the experts here the best way/place to connect a temperature sensor to the motor. I have an EME70 twin that I want to mount it on. I gather the back of one of the cylinders is probably the hottest spot, and...

Need a New 50 to 60 cc airframe

In that case, I would buy whichever you think is the best looking... they will all fly very very well for your purposes.

Need a New 50 to 60 cc airframe

I've got the 3dhs 91" Yak. Only have 5 flights on it so far, but have been loving it. I think the answer for which to buy depends a bit on what you are looking for out of the plane? IMAC setup plane? All out 3d? What style of 3d, low and slow, or more high energy crankshaft/pop top, etc?
