    Glassing and Painting techniques

Yes. I've used it before, but with limited success. It seemed too soft almost spongey when it cured. I've used Pacer and Bob Smith. I've never used West Systems. Thought I would give it a try. SS

    Scale Plans built P-51

Building the radiator was a real challenge and I'm still not satisfied with the shape. I spread drywall compound on the fuse, and sanding it all off has made a huge mess. But, the end result is a really smooth surface.

Haven't posted anything here in awhile, but nobody has requested an update so I guess that's ok. But, I have accomplished a little and can post some more pictures.

I've never used hair spray to hold fiberglass to the wood surface before applying the epoxy. Would someone please explain this to me?

    Robart Electric Retracts

I was working with the second actuator and was just about to say it was fixed. I was retracting them one last time to finish the sheeting and to work on the gear doors. Half way through the cycle the other actuator stripped out. Robart sent me another actuator, number 3. I've put it in and...

just wanted to let you know that Todd and I have come to an agreement whereby I will be taking care of the customer service, repairs, sales, etc. I'm so excited to be part of his organization that I can hardly contain myself. Todd has a great company, and a great engine that's built right...

Speak up and win!! We're turning ONE, time to celebrate!!

First of all I have to say that since coming across GSN, I rarely go anywhere else. All the moderators are great guys and easy to get hold of to make a comment or ask a question. I just hope they don't build the site up and then sell it to some non-RC guys who run it for the advertising bucks...

    IMAC hobby getting expensive

You're exactly right. It always is. In our hobby, there's never going to be a "fire sale". Prices are always going to be as high as we're willing to pay. But, in our case, if we stop paying the prices that the suppliers are asking, they go out of business and we lose the product. Such is...

    Robart Electric Retracts

I was thinking the same thing last night. I got the retract back last night with the new actuator. This is the second actuator for this retract and the third time it's been repaired. I installed it, which is a real pain at this point and cycled the gear. They worked perfectly, twice. Then...

    Robart Electric Retracts

I've heard about the slow (but sure) timelines on the Sierra. I guess good things are worth waiting for. In my application, the Sierra would be $754 plus the cost of actuators if I wanted them to be electric. Pushing a grand if not more. I've already got so much invested in the Robarts that...

    Robart Electric Retracts

At the end of the last video I was re-energized to get the Mustang back on the front burner and try to get it done before West Texas Warbirds. I cycled the gears probably 8-9 times and they worked flawlessly. But, I was retracting them to get the gear out of the way so that I could work on the...
