Our weather is supposed to turn good some time this week, with highs in the 70's.:)

I got out today, and you would have been welcome to 20 degrees of our temperature that's for sure. 95 is WAAAAAY too hot for the end of September. I put a few flights on my Pilot Edge and also flew my buddy's 40% Carf Sukhoi.:)

That's awesome! Customer service is something that is lacking in so many places. It's refreshing to see something like this.

I took the Mig out again today. It's in the mid 90's and humid. It's not supposed to be that nasty around here on the 23 of September. I flew it twice, there was a pretty good crosswind, but it was still fun.

You could also try 91% alcohol. 70% is useless, but I use 91% all the time for cleaning overspray.

It flies good, like most of the Freewing Jets. We've had quite a few of them at the field, and they all seem to do pretty good. I can very highly recommend the Stinger 90. The F-14 was really cool, but didn't really hold up well to much flying.

I painted the white stripe between the wing and stab the other night on my Mig 21. Masking on foamies is a iffy adventure. You never know when it's going to pull the paint off all the way down to the foam. This time things went well. I have a picture of this scheme weathered. If I feel...

I repaired the damage done to my Mig 21 when the Chinese glue joint that was holding the right retract in failed. The flaps were down, so it cleaned the right one off on the way by. I also fixed that and touched up the missing paint.

The theory is that since it's alcohol, water, and a bit of soap, that the alcohol makes it dry better than just water, and the soap acts as a wetting agent and makes the paint flow out a bit better.

It looked like a miniature Jet Rally at our field today, of EDF Jets anyway.;) There were 6 Freewing EDF's and 2 EDF Skymaster F18's. The Skymasters were pretty cool, 120mm EDF's, but neither were ready to fly. It was supposed to start raining around 11, but that never showed up, and it...

I spent the day painting, and this evening finishing up my Freewing Mig 21 so I can maiden it tomorrow. The paint is Latex house paint thinned with windshield washer fluid. It worked out pretty good for a first try. I still have some paint details to add, but it's good enough for now.

And they fly really well too! At least the Freewing ones seem to. Here are a couple of pics of me flying a friend's Stinger 90 last Sunday.

I've seen the spray can clear do that. I think it's the propellant getting trapped because the clear dries too quick.

Started assembling my foamie Mig 21 last night. Definitely going to need to do some painting if I want to see it. I need to get it wired tonight. There's plenty of it.:)

    Show Me the Biplanes!!!!

Well, I've come to the conclusion at this point that assembling a bipe at the field is more than I'm willing to do right now. Maybe someday. I have been drawing a new airplane for this winter. Looking forward to you new build!

With the exception of a pretty stiff breeze, it was a GORGEOUS day today. I took my Pilot Edge and it really loved the cool dry air. The GP61 ran better than ever. I do need to be more careful landing that thing into a stiff headwind. On a calm day it slows down like it has a parachute. Into a...

The Glacier came from Buddy RC. I actually bought the Pulse used. Both of those batteries were bought for a Goblin helicopter that I no longer have, but they fit in the T-Rex better than what I had been using. The Goblin had a very narrow tray and the Pulse and Glacier were about all I could...

We bought ours last year after leasing it for about 7 years. I think we have a little over 110 members. We have an East West fabric runway with plenty of grass on the side and a grass North South runway. The grass was in bad shape in this picture, but it's nice now.
