The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have 2 packs that I use for this heli. I do ALL of my Lipo charging at the field. We have power at 8 tables, so it's a very electric friendly field. :)

Get that baby flying! Then you can bring it to Midwest Air Wing so I can see it fly............. and by the way I'm partial to Skittles or M&M's :lol2:

I think with the tips the final span is just over 90" I'd have to check the cad file for the exact measurement. Here are the wings I just got for it Friday. They're for an Aeroworks 50cc Extra 300. They are leftovers from Aeroworks closing so they are new. The hinges aren't glued so that will...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I've been planning out my next scratch build project and really wanted to do a biplane, but I've come to the conclusion that the field assembly is more than I want to do in this stage of my life. So, I've been working on a new monoplane plan. I have another DA50 so it will be 30% sized. This...

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

I flew Miss Moana today and other than a few speed bumps getting it started, it was awesome. Since the last time I flew it I changed the stab tubes from aluminum to carbon fiber which took an ounce off the tail, and I changed the prop from a Falcon 23 x 8 to a Mejzlik 23 x 8 which weighs about...

Last night and tonight I fixed the plywood tongue on Miss Moana that I had to saw off one day at the field when a blind nut locked up. It's on the charger right now.

On my 50-60cc airplanes I run two 2500mah A123's. I've run several different types of switches, JR, Fromeco, and Booma. Each battery goes through the switch and into the Spektrum receiver. I've never ran a power expander. That setup has been great and totally problem free, even when some idiot...

I had several AR8000 DSM2 receivers in gassers that worked flawlessly with one satellite. Of course my AR9020's and AR12120 DSMX receivers have been awesome as well. Our field even has one of those magic spots that swallows airplanes like the Bermuda Triangle that everyone avoids. I do most of...
