Will drilling a hole in carbon tubes weaken them?

Hi Guys, My plane originally came with aluminum wing and stab tubes. I purchased carbon replacements to lighten the plane, the manual originaly called for a hole to be drilled and tapped for each wing panel and each stab half. I bought wooden dowels which fit the inner diameter of the carbon...

Picked up Redline, got a local speed shop to carry it. I bought racing, as that is what is recommended, but what do you guys know about Redline allsport?

Trailer thread - how did you finish yours off?

Quick update: I'm going to keep the trailer simple. I have a couple sets of Maluk Industries tiedown's on order, I will probably add a shelf and hooks for wingbags, but that will be it for this year. I'll add more to it next season or over winter. Getting excited, almost game time for the cap...

Reza has been here for a week and he's already giving stuff away! RED LINE OIL!

My question is: Where can I buy it in NJ? I've checked everywhere, race shops, motorcycle shops, auto parts, you name it. No one has it, I would hate to have to order oil online. I have never tried it, but I want to. I have a couple DA motors, of which I am about to start up a new DA-120 and...

Trailer thread - how did you finish yours off?

Thank you CB. What type has others used for paint finish? Satin, gloss, sgloss? Rationale for either would be appreciated, other than preference alone. Thanks.

Trailer thread - how did you finish yours off?

Slight progress.... Do you guys use satin or semi-gloss paint? I started off with satin, I'm thinking SG might be a better option. Oh, I'm thinking of leaving the three doors unpainted, thoughts? Thanks...

Trailer thread - how did you finish yours off?

Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm posting a couple pics of mine, horrible shots with poor lighting in the garage. P.s. - I know, not much progress so far.

Trailer thread - how did you finish yours off?

Hi fellas, I just picked up a 5x8 v-nose trailer to haul my planes. It's black, has a side door and barn doors, it's was hard to find with those options in that size. I started by shop vacuuming and then blowing out any dust with my air compressor. I have started to caulk and paint all of...

Spare Parts needed for Hangar 9 1/3 Cap 232

Hi Dimes, The CAP is OK, still sitting in the hangar, excited to get it tuned and maiden'd. I actually haven't flown at all yet this season, I'm probably going to take out last years beater and get back into the swing of things. I'll certainly post an update on the Red, White and Blue. :)

    Rant......Pre assembled fuel tanks.

I build my own tanks, Ive had my share of bad luck with the "F" tanks, leaked all over the fuselage of my plane. Back to dubro and happy.

    3D H9 1/3 Cap 232 - Blast from the past!!!

Hi Guys, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the GSN crew. I've been busy with the family but I got a little time to finish up the motor box wiring, final adjustments on the throttle linkage and even had a little time to cut the cowl exhaust venting. What a PITA that was... I...

Optimal throttle servo placement for a linear movement/motion

Hi Stangflyer, hope your Xmas was pleasant. I hope you don't mind that I ask, which gopro did you happen to get for Xmas? Silver or black? Thoughts so far on the unit?

Optimal throttle servo placement for a linear movement/motion

Will do, I'll add more pics and will add some video to the build thread. I'm expecting a gopro for xmas, so looking forward to that. To bad the project is almost done though, might have to build a kit and catch some vid.
