I don't remember what a 57" looks like on the inside, but the problem in my 58" was that there wasn't enough area to attach the velcro to. I solved that by epoxying in a paint stirrer and attaching the velcro to that. I've done many a crazy tumble and crankshaft since then and it seems to hold.

    Aerobeez 88" Slick 540 v2 (50cc)

I got another couple of flight on it today. I'm still being a bit careful, but it continues to impress low and slow. It does nice pop tops, but I haven't gotten it to do more than about 2 turns. I may need to go up one step on the prop pitch to get a little more speed, but that may be too much...

    Aerobeez 88" Slick 540 v2 (50cc)

As far as I can tell, DLE55 would be a perfect engine for this plane. As I said, the DA50 pulled it with authority but without feeling over-powered. The DLE55 has a tad more thrust and about the same weight, so it should be a great fit. I think some of the demo videos are flown with a DLE55...

    DLE 55 - knocking noise

How loose are they? In my case, it was a matter of a small fraction of a millimeter play. Just enough for it to rattle. If it's really loose, replacing it may not be a bad idea!

    DLE 55 - knocking noise

"Knocking" as in "clicking" or "rattling" near dead center when you crank the prop? In that case, it's not an issue and is caused, as you noted, by some play in the connecting rod bearings, either by the piston or by the crank shaft. Here's my PTE36 after only a couple of flights (the sound on...

    Aerobeez 88" Slick 540 v2 (50cc)

Oh, one more minor thing: The wing bolts are about 1/8" too long, which makes them hit something inside the wing and preventing them from holding the wing snugly. I could just have filed them down a bit, but dskuro95 was nice enough to give me a set of slightly shorter bolts he happened to have...

    Aerobeez 88" Slick 540 v2 (50cc)

So I finally got this baby in the air and it didn't disappoint! Due to a servo problem, I only got two flights on it, but the impressions so far are: * Flies very light. Floaty, but not to the point where it doesn't want to land. * Easy to land. Comes in on a perfect slope on high idle and...

    Spektrum dx8

Correct me someone if I'm wrong, but I don't think you're supposed to use the stock charger with a LiPo. Instead, you're supposed to take it out and put it on your regular LiPo charger.

    Spektrum dx8

Yes I have! And I will get back to you with my thoughts on it as soon as I've had a chance to test it. I haven't been flying in ages (it feels like at least) due to rain, high winds, family stuff and travels. And Sunday is Mother's Day, so no flying then either... :(

    Hobbyking Slick 360 3D

Read to the end! There's a "but"... I had one and I enjoyed it. The build quality was good and the hardware was ok. It flies great (KE-spins are awesome) in most situations excep one, and this is the deal breaker, in my opinion: it has a nasty wing rock in harriers and wing drop tendency. And if...
