The Mej 24x10TH is the best prop I have found for the RE2. On my DA-70 the 25x8evo turns more RPM than the 24x10TH and will have a higher tip speed and probably be louder. The 24B will be the noisest as the Vess airfoil is just plain loud. We noise tested the 24x10TH, but not the 25" props as...

EF should rebrand them as 40cc planes to reflect their tweener status.

When you look at a few General Aviation airplanes like a Cessna 172, you will see the vertical stab offset as well to compensate for the prop forces. The forces acting on the airplane become even more critical when you deal with two prop on a twin. You can ellimate some of this with a counter...

When you ordered the 91 it came freight. I assume the laser came UPS. They will ship the laser freight for the same $120 if you ask them. I think they assume you don't want to deal with the hassle of commercial freight unless you ask. I always try to get a group order going so we can save on...

I just visited DA yesterday while here in Tucson and talked to Tony about getting a Daulton. He offers a ready to cover version that is actually pretty reasonable. Main issue is that he is 9 months back ordered as he does all the work.

Decalage is the technical term. I use mine mainly to match elevator halves.

    VVRC 40 Twin Props

Be interesting to see if the header will work with a pipe. Vess 21B would be super nice if it would work. I have a PT 21x10 carbon that was too much for the engine on stock. This is one experiment I don't want to do.

Yes, but the 74" laser is a 13 pound plane and is 74" long and the fuse is not much smaller than my 87" redwing slick. The 71" slick is 10 pounds electric. The EF planes are approaching the box size of the 50cc offerings and shipping prices reflect that. I just reshipped my 60" yak to AZ and...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

I like all I can get on my ailerons for hovering and attempting anti torque rolls. I think as I transition to the jeti I will setup a hover rate and then 37-38 for rolling and tumbles and then a low rate. I noticed in my 74 laser how touchy the throttle is. Since I am using a new radio and I...

Happy birthday. Cody flew mine a while back and I saw first hand there is absolutely nothing this plane can't do in the current realm of XA and 3D with your power setup. I am very interested to see how the frame holds up as many people keep asking what to do with their old DA-50s and DLE-55s

Discussion Which airplane for my next step to aerobatics?

The first question is what is your preference between gas and electric. Having to buy the charging setup for a 70" plane can be pretty daunting with power supply, charger, and $100+ battery packs. Gas has the down fall of being much harder to setup and tune. My first real 3D plane was a 71"...

I have a even heavier setup with the 5335 and I like it best with just SFGs. I thought too the extra wing area would help, but it is so stable with just SFGs I don't miss the tips. They also cut the roll rate down a lot. Play around. You have 4 different planes in 1 there to try.

It came out a year ago I think and Curtis spent a lot of time developing it. The reversable props is a much less expensive way to go, but had it's issues as you can see in the video with the delay to reverse everything. Also the props will be less efficient. Reversable props are used in...

Apparently rudder is the same. Have to get out those building skills and add some balsa to the rudder. Would be easy with a uninstalled one.

I agree with Ryan. Rudder authority is this planes downfall, not elevator. And that is coming from a pitch authority junkie.

On a few product pages they give the box dimension and you can goto UPS's website and get the shipping before their discount. Ask Curtis and he will tell you what it is. Again, the best thing to do is to get a group buy together and ship all of them freight. $125 to a commercial address up...

    Extreme Flight 74" Laser

My buddy runs LiFE in his big stuff and has a set number of flights before he recharges and likes to bum my battery checker for them. It is not the best data as it just has a discharge graph built in and it senses the third decimal point, but it is not as accurate as it is with lipos. Last...

Question? What the HACK? Hacker A50-16s V2.1?

Hackers seem to run 20-30 degrees hotter than a similar motrolfly and don't seem to care. After 3 seasons I finally wore out the bearing in my A60-6XS and just spent $9 to get new ones. I own a number of hackers, motrolflys, one Torque mk2, and a sunny sky. The omega 130 gram has been ok, but...

    Extreme Flight 74" Laser

The issue is that they put out 6.60V most of it discharge curve. It needs to read 6.604 to tell where it is. It is still not as good as it is with lipo, but at least you can get a general idea. Just doing a couple of flights and recharging will tell you the most as you calculate your run time...
