    Plane for DA 60

I have a guy interested in my 3DHS 89" Slick. If I sell it, I'm going to need a new airframe for my DA 60. The planes I'm primarily interested in are the EF Edge or Yak, Pilot Extra 330SC, Aeroworks Extra 260 QB-L, or maybe the PAU Extra or Edge. What do you guys think?

Gasser Throttle Servo, What Do You Like?

Turns out I have 6 5945s and a 5965. One of the 5945's is so old, I don't think it's programmable. The 5965 tested out OK but needs a new servo case since 2 of the 4 screw mounts are busted from a crash. It's a whopping $7 from Tower Hobbies.

Gasser Throttle Servo, What Do You Like?

I'm not necessarily going to go cheap but I'd like to keep it ideally $90 or less. Since everyone seems to be going with digital on throttle, I'm going to dig through my servo stash tonight to see what I have. I know I have 5 5945MG's from back when they were highly prized but I may have a...

AJ 93" Laser 230Z/GP 88; What Do You Think?

I had someone make a great offer to buy my 89" AJ Slick yesterday and I'm seriously thinking about selling it. If I sold it, I'm really interested in getting the 93" Laser. My Slick has a DA 60 on it so I'm hoping to sell him the motor too. What I'd really like to do with the Laser, is go...

Gasser Throttle Servo, What Do You Like?

Burned up the Futaba 9402 after 8 years yesterday on my 89 Slick. Are high speed coreless analog servos still preferred or is everyone using a digital servo these days? What servo do you like for throttle?

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

It's been a while since I've really done anything with the Dalton. Work has been getting the way and I had to travel for an overnight trip yesterday. Anyways, I ordered a set of headers for a GP 176 in case I go that route. They are the MTW knuckle headers. I can always sell them and get...

Just out of curiosity but would you have this problem if you went with standard mufflers?

    Start Them Out With Gas!

My guess is that motor will need 25:1 like their others and have a glow fuel style oil mess. The biggest thing about this one is that it is 50:1.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Long day in the field yesterday so I only got the front of the rear part of the canopy cut out and shaped.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Didn't get as much done today as I had hoped. I got the hatch back sanded down for the canopy and the front glued to it. I then made the plate for the rear of the turtledeck and glued that on as well.

For the plywood plate, what thickness do you use and do you glue a few together so that it sits on the wing phenolic?

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Well, I spent all day at the office because I was summoned for Jury duty on Monday and just found out I no longer need to show up. So that means working on the Dalton in the morning while batteries charge to go flying tomorrow if the weather holds up!

The hard part in building is finding wood for the table that's straight enough so you don't botch the building of the plane.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

It's been crazy at work since it finally stopped raining. Not too much done tonight but I started working on the canopy. I began by sanding the turtledeck back filler plate down to match. I then worked on the turtle deck front plate. I got it sanded to match the lines of turtle deck as...

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

I got stuck finishing up some stuff for work since it's actually dry enough for us to plant today and tomorrow. I also had to take care of some stuff around the house too. But I got my replacement canopy and anti-rotation bushings yesterday. I was a little worried since there was a hole in...

IMAC JTEC/ Radiowave 3.1m competition series

No worries. I have read that some of the other competitive airframes fly so straight that they can be work to do a rolling circle with and I was just curious how the JTEC performed.

Yeah, I believe the pilot makes a difference. How does the JTEC do in rolling circles?
