Scale 25% Krier Kraft build, a tribute to grampa.

Thank! That's a great list. The Waco Taperwing would be a neat subject. The paint scheme possibilities are endless.

Something like spackle or drywall joint compound are great for the bare wood stages, but the 2 part polyester glaze like Blue Icing or Dolphin Glaze work great after it's been glassed, or on a fiberglass part.

Your getting really close now! And that Hot Kanary is cool! Any suggestions on plans for a neat biplane? Something to power with a DA50. You are the Bipeguy.;)

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Last night I finished the fuel system and installed the Tech-Aero Ultra IBEC. I'm still waiting for some extentions before I can plug the IBEC into the receiver, and finish the throttle servo. They may show up today. Tonight I'll probably work on the aileron wiring.

I sure will! Since mine is done and has flown, and I'm a glutton for punishment, I've been giving a lot of thought about my next project and I keep circling around a biplane. I just don't know if I want to draw my own from a scale subject like a Culp Special, buy plans like a Liberty Sport, or...

@Bipeguy03 is right. There is just nothing like maiden day on an airplane you built yourself. It's a mixture of pride and nervousness. And if the maiden goes well, you just can't get the smile off your face. I maidened my scratch build that I've been working on for years, last Sunday. I think my...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

I worked on the fuel system last night. I didn't expect it to eat up my whole night and not be finished, but I guess I should have known better. I realized life would be easier if I would finish installing the homemade canister mount before the fuel tank mount. The canister mount still needed...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I don't remember the name of the place I bought it from. If I think of it I'll post it tonight. It was a very nice piece.

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

The side are closed to pretty much where the canisters stop and I'm planning on leaving it just the way it is. On my scratch build enclosed the tuned except the top towards the back. Where the rudder servo mounts it would have been very tough to close it in, and in the radio area I had cut...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Yes it is. I had them several ways, totally open like a Carf, Somewhat open on top and bottom like an Aeroworks, or all enclosed like my Pilot Edge. The only thing I don't like about this one is the way they have it setup to vent out the bottom. It's just a massive hole your supposed to cut open...

I was going through your awesome pictures again and saw your quote about the flag and it instantly reminded me about the first time someone told me about the direction of a flag on an airplane. The gentleman that ran the autobody shop right next to mine, Al Braun, told me about it many years...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Last night after putting the nose art on my scratch build "Miss Moana" I got the Extra back on the bench and worked on a few things. Before I can install the fuel system I need to finish off my canister mount. I test mounted it last night and it worked out great. I still need to do a few...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Tonight I check to make sure the elevators traveled the same. I should have done this before, but I didn't. They were relatively even at neutral when I started, but the right one had more travel up and down. All better now. After fixing the elevators I installed my nose art. Miss Moana lives!
