    Servo bench testing

We tested a little Turnigy micro servo that seems to be doing better than the 5087s for durability. I did some testing on some XQs, but they were under spec. We discovered something from the micro where swinging it to the pull helped out a lot and got closer to spec, so maybe there is...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

They are in the low 300s consistently in testing by both me and ghoffman. I need to try a 7954, but I think they are the same servo with different gears (steel versus titanium)

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

I am sticking to the 7954/7955 class servos for this plane. The 9475 is a little less torque on the specs, but with the new constant torque I am betting they will work. I have the 2270s in my two 120cc planes so I know those 1270s will work very well.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Mine should get here tomorrow. I will probably get a few things started as I will have to check standoff length and see what I need to order to finish it. Not sure on servos. I wanted to do Hitec brushless 9475SHs, but they are not in stock anywhere yet. I have a few 7954s that are coming...

    72" Extra 330SC

Below .10 I have not been able to tell at this point in my skills. If I try a stabilizer I will go with faster servos as it can utilize the speed. Keep meaning to put the guardian we have laying around in my laser just to see what it does. I know it is not a Cortex.

    72" Extra 330SC

I have 3 sets of these in my velox, slick, and edge, all 3DHS. On my 72 I went with 7955s only because they were what I had. Still waiting on tower to get the 9475SHs in to give those a try. They look like the ultimate 30cc servo on the market.

    32" MXS-C! Backyard insanity!

I will try to get one later when I am home. Basically I have a horizontal slot for 2s and a vertical slot for 3s so that I can use either battery. All my outdoor twisted stuff has more bite marks, than any other damage. It hones my 3D skills while exhausting them. It only seems to work with...

    32" MXS-C! Backyard insanity!

I think Cody taught that to me. We do a lot of foamies up here with indoor season. Flew mine a few time this evening. First with 2s on a 9x4.7 which was very nice. Then I tried the 3s on 8x4DD. It is just plain silly power. I have flown this motor on a crack Pitts, but this is so much lighter...

    Parkzone Su-29mm

I put a 12x6 APC on mine and it speeds it up a lot. Only problem is that the AS3X goes crazy. Need to turn the gains down. Programming cable is nto coming till September. Have to do some homework.

    32" MXS-C! Backyard insanity!

Just finished mine. I hope to maiden it tomorrow. Cut the battery bay in a L so that I can do 3s or 2s. Most of my twisted flying is in the tight confines of my front yard and 2s is more than enough power.

Redwing 50cc slick 540 build log

The airplane had a bad landing on it's first flight due to those stupid aileron bays. We epoxied it to health inside, and that crack is a reminder of that. The fuel line is the vent. I just need to pull the excess back in. This is my first ES pipe. Lots of 30cc ones around here, but I have...

Redwing 50cc slick 540 build log

GT60 meet ES 55G pipe. Only 2.5 ounces heavier than the stock OS Pitts installed. Most of the weight is the header and couplers.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Just flew the 21x8 today on my 78 Extra. Super stable in low and slow. dth7 got a couple of photos. Did some IMAC with it and it is not perfect for this. I think the 20B is a bit better. The 21x8 just does get going fast enough for certain XA type flying. Looks like slow motion compared to...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Red and White and Blue for me of course (this is common theme in my fleet). I am doing the Motrolfly 5335 setup just like the one at SEFF. Just need servos. Waiting for tower to get the Hitec brushless in. Gecko 150HV (test new firmware finally), Castle BEC pro, Emcotec switch, AR8000 with...

    3DHS 70" Velox

My buddy Patrick is selling a set of 5565s if you are willing to go used. He is getting a new 84" MXS and needs more torque.

    3DHS 70" Velox

Are we talking the solar 771s? I tried them in a pilot yak and I replaced them all. Lots of blow back. They are very anemic in my servo bench testing. For budget servos the only ones I have been ok with in 30cc are hitec 5685s. They are on the slow side though, but have lots of torque. My...

    3DHS 70" Velox

I have a pretty good gas setup on my RCGF 26cc. Having said that I would do it electric next time around. My current one is a little too gunked up from the gasser for my tastes. I am trending back towards electric anyways.

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

For anybody whom followed my 15cc adventure last season, I have a update with the OS GT15. Here is a video from yesterday. More info in thread on it in the gas section. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxrgdV7Vh5A

    15cc EF 60" Edge 540T-EXP Gasser

Got a video of the 4th flight with the GT15. This one I tried a Xoar 15x6 PJA. 9100 RPM on the initial run up. That works out to just short of 11 pounds of thrust. You can hear on the video Patrick and I talking about the 14x7. Looking at data I do think it is probably a better prop for...
