The pull pull would throw your CG off quite a bit though. Even with the servo in the tail I could use a bit more of a rear CG. I already have my battery against the wingtube. Flying a 6s3300 battery and Motrolfly motor in mine. So if you moved the rudder servo up to the front to do a pull pull...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

I've started trying to use that rcflightdeck tool for our club's events. Their directions part leaves me very frustrated at times. I put in GPS coordinates for our field, and it relocates it to North Little Rock, AR. Just ignores the GPS coords usually. It worked right once, but has aggravated...

Pop the ball in and out a few times. It stretches the plastic just a bit and helps loosen it up.

So I'm still confused. You sold the wife right? You should still have the Velox then! :)

I only have one heat setting, I use a weller 40 watt pencil tip one. I used the medium sized tip (about 1/8" wide) and just went after it. It pretty much burns up in smoke. Stinks a bit, but works well!

cut your control surface off, then use a hot soldering iron to melt out the old hinge. Easy way to remove the old hinges and reuse those holes.

a 500 class heli could do it with the right motor. Normally something like a trex 500/protos 500 (I've had both) run a 6s2650, which is about the same weight/flight time/watt hours as a 4s4000. Your amps will be higher though and for full on 3d flying you may wish you had a 6s setup instead...

on 12v input you are only going to make about 500 watts (give or take), plus the charger will work a bit harder doing it. But it will work fine if that is all you need. I ran a 208b on a 13.8v supply for a while, rated at 350 watt charger, but on 15v it would only make about 280.

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

I used to miss my 60" Edge. Then I flew the 64" MXS. Don't miss the Edge one bit now! By the way - why is the 64 called a 64? Unless you fly with the tips on isn't it really a 60? And for that matter if we are counting the tips in the wingspan, then wouldn't the 48" MXS be more like a 51...

19x10 is the money prop on that motor. A 20x6 will work but I suspect will be very slow in the air. 20x8 would be better, but 19x10 was by far my favorite. No experience personally with the protek ones, I was happy with the Xoar so I never tried. Others have liked the protek ones just fine though.

    ZTW "B" Series 65A ESC

maybe... Garrett at altitudehobbies told me that their first step was going to be to shrink wrap over the caps, mine is a landpower one. I thought they were identical except in programming, but you appear to be right, looking at quantum's site the B series do look different than the landpower...

    ZTW "B" Series 65A ESC

I'll give you one bad thing - on the 85 amp models (and others with exposed caps), the capacitors need some reinforcement. They are just sticking outside the heatsink and will break off rather easily. I had one break off on my 64" MXS. Fortunately its a super easy fix. I replaced the cap...

    65" Vyper Discussion Thread

Sorry to hear of your motor troubles... I killed a Scorp 4025-12 on my Vyper a couple years back too. I had it propped down to a 16x8 I believe, and the watts were around 1500 if memory serves. Definitely shouldn't have cooked it, but it did. Turned the back edges of them blue, and cracked a...

Fort Smith Arkansas Fly Low In Sept. 19-22

If you can find a way to ship some planes, we might be able to find some room to haul them from LR up to Ft. Smith for you... Or you could always bring a plane in a box and build it while you are there, and sell it at the end of the event too. If we get 4-5 of us to tag team the build we can...

I can tell you that the green isn't nearly that bright. In reality it's a lot darker and harder to see in the air. On a cloudy day the top and bottom are very very similar... both black.

    3DHS 70" Velox

I found that if I sanded the inside of the cowl with some 100 grit sandpaper or a dremel sanding drum ever so slightly that it fits much better. I had a few high spots in the fiberglass and once I smoothed it out it slipped on nicely. My wing tube was quite tight initially but after about 30...
