3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

Not that cheap. Maybe 60-75% of normal value usually depending on damage and quality/condition. Some are cheaper being mismatched planes, or just special deals from 3dhs, but typically 60-75% of normal and free shipping :)

    42" Vyper Bype

I'm a normal person. I can fly some decent 3d, not as good as some of the people around here, but I consider myself decent. I can drop my 71" Slick or 89" Slick right down on the deck in front of me in a low hover, drag the rudder in a harrier, and do some rollers (as long as I'm at least 30...

I like big fat tips for soldering. Ideally ones that look like this one. They hold a bunch more heat and make soldering even large 10 gauge wires easy. I use a 40 watt Weller with a fat chisel tip.

Me too. I do ok for a few minutes then I start forgetting to call out something, at least out loud. In my head I'm screaming to dodge left! But my mouth forgets to say it out loud..

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

A properly powered 51" Slick will do awesome pop tops. Also quite easy to hover in my opinion... waterfalls are awesome on a 51, as are tumbles and especially elevators if you like those. It will drop straight down inverted.

on a dle-30 you would be happy with either one I think. If you find a deal on the Extra go for it!

Yes. It works, no worries. Well only magnets holding the top wing together. There is a carbon tube on it that goes through the center cabane, and it also has the two outer cabanes that are bolted onto both the top and bottom wings.

I owned a 72" SC briefly. Had an older 70" Slick at the time that I had about 150-200 flights on. Loved the Slick, owned a 42, 51, and 70 then. Bought the 72, it came out 1/2 lb heavier than the Slick with the same setup on it. I flew it on 6s, I think it really needs to be 8s, the power was on...

Find an older used HV110, or you could get one of the ZTW 110 or 120's too. They are attractively priced: http://www.quantumhobby.com/category-s/685.htm http://www.quantumhobby.com/category-s/686.htm (newer B series) Personally I would choose a 120 B series ZTW. More programming options on...

Anybody ever seen the vids from the Severn Bridge guys over in the UK? Mostly flown on EF planes, so I figured I would post it up here. These guys are nuts, they do some crazy things with airplanes... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AraODnsw9y4&list=UUzU0VkFuVtbpSreq2luMoRQ&index=1&feature=plcp...

not really... covering at $18/roll for Ultrakote, then you'll want 2-3 rolls to do some kind of trim scheme on it. And don't forget the other hardware, it adds up fast. Wheels, axles, pushrods, collars, ball links, etc. There is usually an easy 25-50 bucks there depending on what you equip with...

Welcome to the club... my wife has had this problem for the last 10 years or so. Wanna read something interesting? Look up BT Toxins. We did it to ourselves by experimenting with our food supply. Nice. Maybe out in Cali, but not so much in Arkansas. Starting to get a couple of grocery stores...

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

Depends on throttle usage, I get an easy 6:30. If I'm taking it easy on that flight I have gotten 7:30, but with the 425kv I find myself doing more high speed high energy stuff and getting closer to 6:30-6:45

Our office is exactly the opposite... had a bunch of early iphone adopters that went out and got Android phones. Probably 5 guys did this, and these are Linux guru's in our IT dept. They loved the hackability and customizability of the Android's. Well after a year of that, the novelty wore off...

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

I've run 6s and 8s on my 70/71 slick. I actually prefer 6s, and I think you can get a very nicely powered 6s setup. I am as happy with the amount of power on 6s as what I had on 8s, I just like the feel on 6s better, seems smoother and nicer to me. Batteries are more important on a high powered...
