3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

The owner of the plane did contact them, and they are going to replace the servos I believe. Not bashing the company at all, they have always been great to deal with! If 3dhs ever brings back their foamies I'm definitely buying a replacement 33" Extra. I love mine, but it's days are numbered...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

I just built a crack yak for a local guy, 2 of the servos were dead. One worked just long enough to set the plane up, but when we went for a maiden the ailerons were dead. Nice. Had to cut the servo out and enlarge the hole for an hxt-900 that we had laying around. I definitely won't buy their...

T-motors are great. Lots and lots of guys use them in the multi-rotor helis and love them. I wouldn't hesitate on one of them. Now those exceed motors that they sell... Not a fan.

    50a ztw issue

Sounds like a bad bullet/motor connection still then. Loose connections, or intermittent ones can often cause that excessive motor stuttering. Do you have bullets on it? Try direct soldering the motor leads to the ESC. Also possibly wiggle your capacitors gently on the ESC. I had one of the...

    3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

Are you losing servo control when this happens too? Mine is setup this exact same way, except I now have digital 5085's and still on the Ice internal BEC with no problems. I did take care to make certain my servos aren't trying to force the control surface past the stop point and causing a...

aj slick 59" (3dhs) -OR- extra mx 58" (precision aerobatics)

There are a lot of good airframes in this size. I would take a serious look at the ExtremeFlight 64" MXS, many also love the 60" Extra, and I've flown both the 3dhs 58" Edge and EF 60" Edge. Those are nice for 3d planes. But you mentioned tracking, so the Extra or MXS would be more of my pick in...

    3DHS 70" Velox

Now the question is what motor for the Velox? I have a Motrolfly 4325-425kv in mine. Custom wind from Ken, with that motor I am running an 18x10 prop which lets the Velox go quite fast and get violent with tumbles much like the 64" MXS. Does great pop tops too. Or I could drop it down to a 19x8...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

I think the 71" Slick and 64" MXS are probably my favorite two planes also, though it depends on my mood about which is the top. If I'm in the mood for high speed violence the 64 probably wins. But otherwise the 71 takes the cake. If you want a blend... well the 70" Velox is a nice bridge. It...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

Ha... spring would be extremely optimistic. New airframes are generally around 1.5 years from the announced time at best. The 74" Edges were at least that, the bype even longer, some take a while to get right. And 50cc planes seem to be the slowest to restock of any other plane, I would be very...

Thanks Jim! I like Aztechaeromodels, though I'll probably have to pick up a few other bling parts while I'm there :)

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

I think because it isn't a plane designed to fly fast at all. It's designed for slow stable flight mostly, and the fatter wing lends itself to that a bit better maybe.

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

The only zombie I want to see is Arron Bates after a marathon build session on his prototype. He said on rcg that he thought the best way to show the WHOLE new plane was maybe a fast knife edge video of it. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=23190697&postcount=25430 There are a...

    Mounting the Castle ICE 75

I have zip tied all of my esc's to the side of the motor box with no problems. Ice 100's, Ice 120 HV's, no problem. I usually put a bit of foam under them to reduce vibrations, but otherwise a couple of zip ties and forget about it.

3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

So 12" is the design number the ZTW engineers say not to exceed. The current leads are what 3"? Even 1 more inch would make them so much easier to deal with... I can see staying well under the 12" mark, but these are so short that they are hard to use. Otherwise I love the ZTW series of ESC's...

Altitude Hobbies Hosted ZTW ESC discussion/ Q & A thread

Well I banged on the LandPower 85 amp ESC in my 64" MXS all weekend and I definitely love it. Price is perfect, and the biggest thing I was hoping for is that the throttle is nice and smooth and advances from idle with no hesitation and it holds up perfectly to all those things. Much nicer than...

Altitude Hobbies Hosted ZTW ESC discussion/ Q & A thread

I would offer another difference between the land power series (and probably the B series) from the A series, the A series has a slight throttle hesitation when advancing from a zero throttle spot. The land power series do not. Much faster and smoother. Definite improvement. That is the one...
