    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

True, but basically this was bought by Paul @GSNadmin as a gift. So, hopefully they will treat it like they would someones Christmas present.:)

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

I finally called Horizon today about the lump in the left wing and some other issues like the cowl and canopy. I've been meaning to do it for months, but now that the scratch build project is done I finally got around to it. I'm a little concerned at the response. Since I won the airplane, and...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Boy that's a tough one with the location of the cowl opening. Normally you'd bring the air in the top and force it down through all four cylinders. With the air coming in below center I'm not sure the standard top and bottom split can work. I know it's a really bad pun, but that one is baffling.

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

The Extra actually made it into the shop today. I worked on the throttle arm, servo, and linkage. I flipped the stock DA arm over so it pointed down. I stole @Terryscustom s fix for that using a ball link spacer. I also did something similar so I could put the choke rod on the opposite side for...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I test ran it today. It took a lot of flips to get it to prime since it hadn't ran in over two years, but once it started and I richened the top end up a bit it ran beautifully. :) I also ordered some new aileron extensions for it. I just didn't like the looks of the ones I had. This afternoon...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I'm glad somebody had fun today, our Warbird event got canceled because the field looked like a swamp Saturday night.

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

The first landing is always exciting since you don't really know what the airplane wants. I'm guessing because of the high wing loading it will want the long smooth low approach. Round cowl drag may require some power depending on the wind. Time will tell. I was planning on taking it to the...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

The odd thing is neither do I. :lol2: I'll measure it again tomorrow, but if I remember correctly it's around 88".

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Back in the Ducted Fan days my flying buddy Tony and I took a brand new never flown Bob Violet F16 to the Superman Jet Rally. On Tony's first flight as he was landing, Bob Fiorenze had just landed his brand new one of a kind F14. This was way before you could by an ARF F14 or even the Yellow...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

I had it back on the EZ Balancer last night. The balance is dead on now. I also had it on my digital scales. I may need to change its nickname to the flying anvil. The ready to fly less fuel weight is 24.14 pounds. :face-palm: Oh well, I was planning on flying it like a Warbird, it might as...

That sucks. The guy that's being a Nazi at our field was telling people if he saw anyone break a rule he was going to send them home for the day. He is a board member, but doesn't have the power to send some one home. :face-palm:

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I'm a former Safety Officer myself, as well as Field Marshal, Secretary, Vice-President, Newsletter Editor and Contest Director, and I can say I would never do another one of those jobs, period. That club had between 100 and 120 members at all times and about 90% or more of them were great and I...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Thank has happened to me twice. The first time was in 1985 on the very first day I flew an RC airplane. The club treasurer came up to me when I was done and cleaning my airplane and started questioning me like I was a murder suspect. I was in a great mood so it took him a while to get me mad...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

@Xpress is this a no 3D thing? We've been pretty lucky so far about 3D flying in our club. There are people that whine about it, but it never gets any traction. One of the best 3D guys in the area has been a member of our club since it started I think, and his dad I believe is a founding member...
