Congratulations! You're going to love it! You only saw me do break-in flying of mine. I've started hovering and harriering a little and the hover is just SICK! Perfectly locked in! Since you're not really supposed to hover with a new engine, I had to pull out after a few seconds, but I had no...

    3dhs 89 slick

I've seen Humberto fly a plane I believe he saved from his shed where the mice had used it as a nest. A plane that according to him "he couldn't get to fly right". He was doing rolling circles 3 ft off the ground and water with it... :)

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

I'm using the 3/8" wood extensions that came with my 72" Extra with a Motrolfly 4315/714. My main problem is that there's no good place for additional velcro up in the nose area. The previous owner put a strap with some velcro around the lower section of the box that the battery can catch onto...

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

Sure, but the battery seems to come loose from the velcro when I'm doing tumbles and pop tops. I think the back is still held down by the strap, but the front flaps up. Scary, in any case!

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

So, seriously, are there any restrictions on size and weight for the combat planes? I have a plane in mind, but let's just say it's not exactly a 30" foamie...

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

Yeah the rudder servo is on the tray with pull-pull. HS225MG all around, which should pretty much be the standard servo for this plane. Pushing the battery maybe 1/2" from being all the way into the motor box makes it balance on the tube and flies inverted with very little elevator input. I PMd...

    3DHS 58" Edge 540

I'm having some problems keeping my batteries from moving around. I fly mine on 4s (and like it) and I have to push the battery almost all the way into the motor box to make it balance. I've strengthened the box with some CF so it can take the forces. The problem is that I can only put a single...

Awesome! I hope you gave my best regards to Jeff! He seems to take good care of his models, so I'm sure this one was a beauty. What are you thinking of putting in it?

    The Bonehead Files

I drove by my field today and just "happened" to have a plane in the trunk of my car. On the fourth and final battery, I suddenly lost all power and made a very ugly dead stick landing but saved the plane. Since I had bought the batteries from Gary, my first reaction was, naturally, to send him...

    72" Extra 330SC

Re: 3DHS 72 Extra So this is what an amazing plane feels like? I'm starting to become more comfortable with my Extra and got down low and did some hovers and harriers. It's really got that locked-in feeling. It's so easy to fly and does exactly what I tell it to. Can't wait for the engine to be...

I must have good ears! Came to the field this afternoon and saw a giant scale decathlon doing eights over the field. I thought the sound was very familiar and I could swear it was a PTE36 I was hearing. Whaddayaknow, when the pilot landed his plane I asked him and sure enough it had a PTE36 in...

Discussion My Favorite Charger. Pros & Cons

Yeah, high resolution color screen is just a LITTLE overkill on a charger. But cool. And yes, it kind of looks like an old-school Nintendo.

Discussion My Favorite Charger. Pros & Cons

I've got my eyes on an iCharger 4010 Duo. Dale from EP Buddy demoed it to me in Toledo and, although I never thought I would say this about a charger, it's darned sexy! I think one of them could make their way to my house when my next commission check arrives... :)...

Done! I'm not going to show you a closeup of the covering job, because it's kind of sucky. Yeah, I suck at covering! But here she is! Back from the kingdom of Hades!

I have a Hawk Sky I could use. Same idea as the EasyStar and virtually indestructible. Only problem is that it has a small pusher prop. I want a big tractor prop I can chew up foam with!!!! :)

You're allowed to change batteries, repair, re-launch, whatever until the CD has declared a winner. You're not allowed to deliberately keep the plane on the ground, of course. Fly until you die. Very simple!
