All I'm going to do is make a vid of the first start and run and demonstrate how quiet it is. The first two tanks of fuel @4Krpm or less and watching CHT. When maiden comes and I tune for the first flights then I will get some RPM and thrust numbers along with db reading. No plans to remove the...

The filter is an Oregon 30-301 (for Techumse small engine) available at Walmart / Home Depot / Hardware etc..Couple of bucks. To adapt it to the velocity stack I cut the rubber bulb from a Danco flapper and secured it to the filter with a nylon wire tie. I did trim the outer portion of the...

Just had to put the cowl on with the prop and spinner. Still trying to get used to this scheme :trance:. Cowl opening is rough cut for now but seems it is going to cool well. Will need to make draft openings on the bottom of the fuse kinda like an electric.

Thanks Paul. I just finished up the engine install with the air filter system. Made a filter retainer plug from a gas bung stopper (fit the filter perfectly!) and attached it all to the carb with a piece I cut from a rubber flapper valve. The retainer plug base fits in the factory servo opening...

Got the throttle servo attached to the carb and throttle settings programmed. Will work on the ignition next. Looking forward to getting the first tank ran through the engine :) Should be very quiet at idle with the air filter system and canister.

Getting closer....Engine and canister installed. I was wondering how I was going to attach the filter to the carb whilst sitting on the crapper :cautious: and it dawned on me :ooh?:........A flapper for a crapper :attaboy:.

I did have to cut it......Elongated the exit so my fat fingers can get an extension on it. Good news is everything fits snug with no stress on the header.

Not at the moment. The canister is a really "snug" fit through the pipe tunnel. I may end up cutting the stinger in order to align it with the area in which it will exit and use a silicone coupler to re attach.

Made a deck in the bottom of the fuse. The rear dump canister needs to exit in this area hence the deck. Will cut a 1" hole at about the middle of the deck for the stinger of the canister to exit. Cut 4 individual pieces of 3/32" light ply and sandwiched them making the 2 pieces at the right...

Just about got the engine mounted. Need to make a trip to the Ace and get some SS 1/4-20x3.5" hex head bolts. The 3 inchers I got are not long enough to get a lock nut "backer" on the blind nut. Want to keep the inside of the plane and engine clean so looks like plenty of room for the air filter.
