Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

NO VID NO PICS.......I was to busy sucking all that fresh air and sun in whilst zipping around the 26cc BEHEMOUTH .

I hope it is a mouse because the alternative is rather icky, sticky and stinky :steamer:. Good to see you doing better too!

Peak Models 32% Extra 330 SC

Can't go wrong with the DuBros. Scuff em before gluing in and I then also use a T-pin pushed through it. I use Robarts for the pin style. My Extra was shown to have the flat hinges as well but when it showed up it was done up for the pin hinge. Any way get rid of the supplied hinges flat or pin...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Really wanted to fly today but a strong cold north wind is a blowing so I went ahead and finished making my servo arms and linkages for the Extra. I also got the AR9140T power safe receiver to go over. Boy is it NICE! Me likes it a lot :). I used DuBro 4-40 ball-links on the arms and kit...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Before I get started filling up the shop with a BIG 50cc Extra 330sc assembly I am going to replace the flimsy landing gear on my QQ300 with a CF one and new wheel pants / wheels. The factory gear rolls lousy and makes ground handling a bust. The GP revolver 70 pants are a good match size and...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Had a nice time ducking in and out of the shop today. Used some discarded graphics from older ARF's and mfg logo's to give this Edge its look. Simple and clean. Handsome plane for an inexpensive ARF :). Hopefully the rest of the China coat will hold up a bit better than the black did.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Just been going over my HUGE 26cc tiny plane :p. Replaced the servos with HV blue birds and made a new Pull Pull arm with the metal servo wheels I got. The black striping in the scheme had the mylar separate so I got some lacquer thinner to get the black off the white covering. Also installed a...

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

Sounds like a "cartoon" bullet from a Bugs Bunny episode :yesss:. But I have had my own "favorite" encounters with trees as well.....Once I had a Futaba Acrostar 60. Once there was a tree with a split trunk. There was a man from Nan-tucket.....Took his plane home in a bucket.....A tree to...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

@Snoopy1 I have had both engines. The original DA100 on stock muffs in a GP CAP @ 29 pounds and the original DA120 on canisters in an EF 104 @28.5 pounds. Yes the 120 had "insane" power but the 100 had really good power too. Swinging a 27x10 wood prop. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed...

World's Largest RC Pitts Python biplane (85% scale)

I have "heard" this plane before. New sound system in it??? Got a nice "rumble" to it now :attaboy:.

Never say never but.....This will probably be the last bigger plane I do. Going to just take my good old time with it and enjoy the shop time.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

If it has a "fixed" elevator or just the stab and rudder only for steering control then I would say that is normal for that type of plane. really old school.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Some of the RC goodies I ordered for the Extra are here :). The servo wheels are a very tight 25t fit and the fuel dot will look awesome on my John Deere Tract......I mean plane. Did some one mention Green Apple covering??? The fuel dot is intended for boats but what the heck.....Tractors need...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Thanks. I found out the DX8G2 does have quad bearing gimbals but I would like to get better tension and a bit more solid feel mechanically.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

That turned out really nice ! The M9 gimbals you put in have hall sensors, ball raced, and constructed of aluminum? Do you know if they might also fit a Spektrum DX8G2?
