    I FINALLY figured it out!!! Been thinking to hard about how hard I think or thinking is hard or something like that. So what ya think??? I'm really thinking a cheeseburger would be good now but now that I think of it I think I should stop rambling about thinking :confused:. I think I'm right cuz...

    Well it looks as if a new cowl will be headed my way. Had a positive response . Nothing negative. Just a good hardy "Let's get this fixed" and so it is :attaboy:. I could not be happier :).

    So I'm sitting down and contemplating the universe and it finally sunk in that my sub conscience is NOT going to let me be satisfied with this plane. Really trying to be a good sport but after the experience with the canopy on the V1 I had I figured a negative karma thing was going on here so I...

    Thanks Rob. To be honest I think a 5th grader could have made such a simple tool so why can't these ARF companies??? And then use it themselves to correctly position the cowl mounting ring while gluing it in? Oh! I forgot.....They using 2nd graders on their assembly line :laughing:.

    Getting ready to mount an engine and I decided to take a different approach so I could see just how far off the cowl ring in the cowl is from the laser etched cross hairs on the motor mount plate. When I say "cowl ring" I mean the wooden former glued to the back of the cowl that facilitates...

    Well I pulled the DL50 out of the box I had it in and got to ooh and awing and turning it over and listening to that solid suck/pop at the exhaust port and feeling really good compression......I think this engine going to do fine. My flying has tamed down and I can always mount the 70 twin later...

    VVRC is where I would get the 70 for sure. EME 70 from Mile High but the RCGF is a bit more powerful and light like the DA. Put up some pics of your build here if you want. Really please do. Might get Rob from cracking the whip on me! My toy Yorkie already does that enough :face-palm:. Hey Rob...

    Thanks Bruce. The inboard wing trailing edge pieces are built up ply and balsa. Very sturdy and light. The wing saddle recess is actually a fiber material that is pretty thin. Motor box / pipe tunnel all built in at factory. I have not checked yet but I hope the stab incidence on this one is...

    The only difference in this V2 over the V1 as far as I can tell is........ The pipe tunnel opening in F1 is much larger allowing good access to LG nuts and bolts and easing the install of tune pipe or canister. Carbon fiber rods added to the sides of the main formers that make up the lower...

    Well.......I just could not resist NOT knowing what this plane is going to weigh. It is actually going to be a bit heavier than the V1 with a DA70!!!!! Weighed out all the RC goodies including hardware, fuel tank and lines, servo extensions etc etc.... and it came out to 18.5 pounds dry! This...

    The resistor is for noise or RF suppression because the small plugs that are used are not suppression type plugs like you find on automobile engines. Off the top of my head I don't know the resistor value but you can look at the color bands on it and google a chart showing the values.

    I was not going to fool with this Extra just yet but I just had to put my mind to rest over the color scheme. The paint on the cowl and wheel pants have three noticeable runs and as I stated earlier the black paint on the cowl has dulled and orange peeled area up front. Nothing that cant be...

    @stangflyer It's the 33% H-9 CAP 232. I believe he had put a DA100 in it. This is the plane I had a 3W85B2 on cans in.
