The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I too like the "MPX" connectors for long servo runs with power hungry servos. My 2 in 1 elevator servo extension awaits a new airframe. 20awg wire for the "Y" adaptor and signal wire in the main cable. 18awg power leads in the main cable.

@Snoopy1 ...... Sounds like the 120SF is pretty tired. That engine is pretty old now. It replaced the original YS F-120 over 20 years ago. I will always have a passion for YS even though they are glow engines. If you are still in to glow and want a totally bad azz 4 stroke for about the same...

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

If your 120 is anything other than the original F-120......(120AC, 120NC, 120SC, 120FZ ) Then a 17x8 APC will have no problems hovering 10lb 3oz. Won't be "foamy like" but will have positive control and authority. I also recommend at least 20% nitro. But 30% does give a noticeable boost in...

My shop is pretty limited compared to days past but the one tool I can't possibly imagine myself being with out is the good ol' drill press. It slices it dices heck it even mashes! And when I finally found out it DRILLS holes in just about anything!.....well.....:banana-dance:. Thanks for the...

Even better it "feels" like a new one. Should be a decent running 50. Like you and your DA50 I am going to run a 23x8 Mejzlik vice the 22x8. Should do well with the canister.

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

I have had three funtanas. The "45" size with a YS53.....Two "90"size with YS120FZ and 140FZ. They all hovered and 3D great. Sounds as if your prop choice may be the culprit. 17x8 worked really well for the two larger YS's. If you are using the RCGF26 try a 18x8 light beech-wood prop and get a...

Well relaxed.... I just could not stop tinkering around tonight. Got as much done as I could without the CS. Used red locktite to seal the bearings and pressed them in. Cut the old reeds in half and fitted over the new reeds. Installed the piston ring and checked the fit. Piston side to side...

Was able to take my mind off that blasted CAT 5 sharknado and got the DL50 dismantled. Definitely tell it got "Lawn Darted" somewhere in its life and run hot. Upper rod end very sloppy and lower end had just one spot bad from the nose in dirt nap. Front bearing was oozing black grease and the...

Scale 25% Krier Kraft build, a tribute to grampa.

Nice shots. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. I remember when I could not wait to get to the field early with my 25% Bucker Jungmiester because I knew a Great Lakes and Steen Skybolt were there awaiting for some formation flying. A Fly Baby Bipe would join in time to time as well...

I always liked that style of front end on racer planes but I got to say "Miss Mona" was an awesome build. About 90" span on this new one?

Just got the carby and bolt set. Crankshaft due in a couple days. Got a little engine bling going on as well. When the intake horn gets here I hope it is the red one. Plan is to mate it with a filter that will easily fit inside the motor box. Carb is not walbro as advertised. It's a "HUAYI"...
