    Yippee! What the postman brought

It's too bad they don't offer shipping rates during checkout - this would have prevented this as well. I am slightly dissapointed they wouldn't let me pitch in for the shipping costs - as no business should loose money. But as you just said, they helped me out big time, and earned my trust and...

    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

Skywing provides these neat little EC3 connector housings to be attached to the airframe for the Rx batteries. Since I prefer XT60 connectors I had to widen the housing a bit, remove the indexing notch, and widen the wire exit holes on the back shell. It’s all glued together and then screwed...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Just placed my first order with McMaster-Carr... Somehow it got screwed up and they shipped it 2nd day air to Alaska... it was some Viton Fuel tubing and some screws for almost $40... ouch. Contacted them immediately and said whoaaahhhh! catch that sucker before it leaves the warehouse! too late...

    About RC servo motors

That would be better than robot wars... LOL I finally read through the entire article. It's a little winded and redundant, but lots of rich information in there to take home.

For Sale American made aluminum caps and fittings for water bottle fuel tanks

Good work Bob! Nice to see that you've picked up the gap in production since PSP is no longer producing these. Are the tank fittings broached for an allen key?

    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

Got some new goodies from Tim and NWRC. Was asking him about stand-off options for the GP76 and this airframe since SW or GP don’t provide any... After mentioning the blazing star 60 mount will work he shot me an image of some shiny NWRC parts he’d just received in for a cheaper option...

Here’s a little PSA about glass laminate structure and assembling your model. Most of theses routed pieces are clean cut, but some of them still have residual fibers clinging to the edges. My arm got a bunch of sticks from tiny glass fiber ends and irritated my skin. It’s good practice to wipe...

Setting up the rudder servo. With the power off, I center the rudder with tape, center the servo arm exactly 90 degrees, and make my push rod to the correct length. Once that is done I’m ready for the next step. remove the arm, power up the servo, make sure it’s going the right direction. Put...

Finally came up with a way to mount my dual R7008SB receivers. Made balsa wood standoffs Just aft of the main tray. Took some balsa sticks and strategically orientated them in an effort to get them close to 90 degrees from each other. Painted them black and then epoxied the wood blocks in place...

Time to drill the laser etched marks for the GP76. Start with a pilot hole and then enlarge with a drill bit matched for the mounting bolts. Then debur with A razor blade. Thinned some 30min epoxy with some Isopropyl Alcohol and coated the exposed wood on the motor box firewall and the...
