Yay oh yay!!! Got the email I have been waiting for. Those people at Pilot RC are just the finest people ever. My Edge wing and Yak canopy are complete and being shipped out as we speak. I am so excited to get that wing especially. I needs me some red headed 106 stick time.:brian-banana: I...

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

Beautiful Sunday morning, the entire field to myself, a sweet flying round cowl plane, a "dub" under the hood...what more could a guy ask for? Well, how about maybe another 20 or 30 degrees in temperature? Brrr... a little chilly but I'm doin' it anyway. The cooler temps are however letting that...

It really isn't all that bad. I stand mine on the nose, (huge foam protector of course), I usually lean it up against a table (huge foam protector for that too) or have someone hold it. Then insert the top wing tube and slide on the top wings and insert the four retaining bolts. Insert the lower...

After a little flying this morning, I decided I would get a couple more things accomplished this after noon. To start with, the Pitts has had a problem since day one. Upon installing the fuel tank purchased from TDRC, I did things as I normally do. However every time I would either put fuel in...

Ok, got my three flight minimum on. The "only" thing I am considering changing on this plane is the landing gear. I really want to get some c.f. gear for it. Other than that, one of the sweetest and funnest planes I've owned. And that "dub" 70 twin. What a "clock". Just to, tic, tic tocs right...

What I have found is "if" the paint is relatively fresh, the 91% Alcohol usually does a pretty good job. Especially if it is just overspray. But I had no, "ZERO", "ZIP", "ZILCH" luck when attempting to remove a little paint from one of my aircraft. (Don't remember which one) I tried about...

The rain has stopped, the skies have cleared to a crystal clear blue. Not a cloud in sight. Wind is down to virtually nothing. So what is an old dude like me supposed to do on such a beautiful "EARLY" Autumn Saturday morning? Well duh....!!!! Take a certain 3W twin powered Pitts out on a date...

Yes, Top Flight Trim Solvent. It will take the Lustrecoat off without damaging your covering. Use it sparingly. A little goes a-looooooong way.

Rained out at work today so I figured it would be a good day to take care of a couple of things in the hangar. I actually only got one thing accomplished. And I blame it on the deep burning desire to take a mid day nap. Who knew when we were younger that we would enjoy naps so much? LOL. I did...
