Yeah you can dump a lot of glue into the plane thats for sure. Shoot for 5-1/8" to 5-1/4" CG. The plane seems to handle better south of 5" (w/o fuel). Seems the stall characteristics get more docile.

You are a busy bee! So much flying it's starting to make some of us jealous! Keep it up! :attaboy:

If you read through the whole thread you’ll see me talk about the lack of glue and supports along with lite ply. It’s a little flimsy. Don’t over think it. You’ll have fun with the 56cc. Just add more glue and some supports in the cabin frame, plan on moving as much stuff as possible aft for the...

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Flew The Trifecta today! Electric Float plane in the morning. Gas 3D plane in the late morning. Glider in the afternoon! Other than some one float touch and goes, Hitting a little bubble of rising air took the hat with the glider. So much fun. Sorry no pic, but I did make some video... later

A 50cc+ is ample power. I don't think the plane needs it at all. It's pretty rare I use the engine at WOT. If someone doesn't want to 3D the timber, I'd say keep it light. a 30cc will be okay, but with the heavy gear and big tires the 35-38cc at least. A 50cc is crazy power on this airframe and...

I hope 20” balloon tires wasn’t a typo.... epic LOL!! Suprised you didn’t opt for the GP38!

Dang. A 56cc will be a stump puller on this plane. Lots of power. Is it the stinger line?

With flaps deployed, its very slow. A little flap elevator mixing and you'll be a happy camper. You don't have that much time on it yet, In the beginning I was nervous to land slow, but rest assured it slows down great with flaps and has a better stall characteristic. Page 26 I talked about 20%...

With the Gas engine and a TechAero I'm getting just under 400 mAh per 14min flight. I think a 2S 950 would be a little light, but with 6min flight times on electric I think it'll work.

One thing I'm learning is that the 1m composite DLGs have about ZERO pod room to work with. Tiny Servos, tiny battery, tiny receiver.... There is a lot of different types of DLG gliders out there and you need one that fits your flying conditions. I am sold on the Dream-Flight Libelle 1.2m for...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

On a different note, I would really like to get the Libelle DLG from dreamflight but it's not in stock until the end of summer apparently. An EPO foam glider that can take a few hits on the rocks sounds great from where I am at. I was also looking at their Ahi kit... You can say I'm getting a...

1m mini dart. Had it for years. Screwed up the tail during assembly. Trying hard to get it in the air. Could get a new tail from soaring models via Ukraine but I didn’t want to learn how to use swift payment...

Must be CSS... Control Surface Saturday Third attempt at the otters flaps and ailerons. And making some balsa tail feathers for the DLG. Sanded to airfoil and hair sprayed, prepped for glass. The two projects I really need to get done... Otter and DLG. Man, Hangar birds need some TLC. ARS...

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

At the time the XPWR 30cc was out of stock and they were going through a design flaw of the X mount breaking. This is now resolved. Based on Tim's recommendation I used the Motrolfly 4330-216kv I chose the Castle 80HV. It never peaked over 70A in the air with a 20x8. I think I should have tried...

One thing I’ll say, if you are using a 50cc engine, I’d keep it OEM. The reason being ground clearance is vital for the props survival. I wish I had a TIG welder to make my own gear 4” taller. Dreaming always dreaming
