Flew the plane today. Cylinders are getting too hot I think. What is the temp range? I heard 250 and under, not over 300F. My right (rear) cylinder is running 30-40F hotter above half throttle. I’m thinking of opening up the cowl some more. I did adjust the HSN richer about 1/8 turn and it...

UPLOADED my Tailwheel fork to Thingiverse! That was a long time in the making. Now anyone with a printer can give it a whirl. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4484038

I have a 3" falcon spinner sitting here and it will fit a Vess 20A wood prop and the falcon 20x9 CF. It does not fit the falcon 23x8CF - it hits the mounting tabs.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I was flying my 3D foamy in the yard and some kid and his parents were walking past (giving them a small airshow of course) but the kid yelled "COOL! Dad, can I get a drone?!" . . . I was disappointed in society and all of humanity at that point. were doomed folks. doomed. One day kids will like...

Unfortunately options are limited. I got a 3" falcon, but the spinner cone hold down screw pattern isn't wide enough apart for a 23x8 prop. It will fit a 20x9 for a 35cc. I went with a 3" center bolt spinner. You can actually find them very cheap online, quality control isn't very good, but you...

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

I know, it's terrible. It's strange having no tourists here this year. we were expecting 1.8 million people this year before everything shut down for COVID. It's so peaceful... not helicopters running 12 hours a day nonstop, downtown is just locals. It's wonderful yet horrific for many friends...

Okay I decided to re-weight my plane for ya'll. DLE55RA, Falcon 23x8CF, 3" center bolt spinner, 2 pulse 2550's, XCub Gear, 8.75" PR Bushweels, 3.25" Dubro Tail Wheel... SIX ounces of sticky weights in the tail. Per my fish scale. 20.7# empty w/out struts-batteries-fuel-slats 21.0# empty w/out...

I cannot say ive heard people complain about the 35cc's being too light. If you want to hang on the prop all day long with the x cub gear and big tires than probably the 50-55cc engines are the way to go... being 21-22# loaded... but for STOL and basic aerobatics I would thing the 35-38cc...

Whipped up an air dam for the front dump. I have FINALLY started to use Thingiverse so my .STL will be there for all to use. The AirDam is posted there to download and print yourself. As I am a new member, I'm not allowed to publish anything for 24 hours... not sure why.... silly rules. But here...

I found that 25% was too much elev-flap, dialed it down to about 20% with little pitch control effort needed and just using airspeed management. I started small and worked my way up until I found the tipping point. 23% seems to be a sweet spot.

I shall answer your question with another. why? If it's to increase roll rate than I'm sure any input would help. If you think of an arrow as it flies is very true in a spiral - adding equal amounts of up/down elevator should have the same effect and limit adverse yaw you get with full aileron...

Two separate loops of parachute chord. Slide your wing tube on, one loop on either side of the tube. plug your wings in loosely and hang with a fish scale... this is a bit hard because it's awkward and heavy. OR you can use a bathroom scale by holding it, stepping on the scale three times (take...
