Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

Well ya know Kelly? After our conversation of a few days ago, I am thinking I will put the snorkel back on the 106. True I gained some rpm on the ground. 6570 is what she is twisting the Falcon 28x10. And sounds really solid, consistent and strong. But in the air...she has a dut...da...dut...

Cool The I'm going out flying thread 2017

No photos today. Just a little fun in the sun with the 3w106cs Powered Pilot Edge. I put 5 flights on her today and really like the 106 but just really "lacking" with the canisters. So I will be changing them out for new MTW 75's soon. My son yanked the new DLE 120 and MTW 75 rear dumps from his...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Besides working on the Behemoth Yak (2), I found time to get the Brand New 3w 106cs mounted on the Pilot Edge. What an undertaking, but it's done. Dang, bending those KS Comfort Headers is a chore. Turned out pretty good though. I did get the Edge out for 5 flights today. Love the "dub" 106...

Wow.... great progress! There is a lot to be said about slow but steady progress. As I am finding out with the big Yak. The end result sure is pleasing huh Mike?

I forgot... a few photos of the stabs and elevators...and final rudder connections. Also the finished canopy/cockpit with the G-Force dude in place.

Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

So, progress.... I will try to update you all as much as possible. I have been working on the new Pilot Edge each night as well as the Behemoth Yak (2). Lots to get accomplished in the next few short weeks. I have a ton of photos to edit through and resize. But hopefully I can muddle through in...

Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

Very sorry gentlemen... I really have not stopped working on the big Yak. Honestly, between 70 hours per week at work, then home to try to get something accomplished I have found I have been very tired. So only a little bit each night has been accomplished. All the same, progress is proceeding...

    Show Me the Biplanes!!!!

Ya'll are really driving me nuts-o with all this bipe talk. I seriously need to have a big one. In a moment of weakness, I probably picked up another 3w (4) cylinder tonight. (Like 5 of them is not enough already right?) I have always loved-loved-loved the Super Steerman. But it just wouldn't...

Sport The Behemoth Yak gets a Behemoth Brother/129" Pilot Yak (2)

Trying to get a few other irons out of the fire has left me little time to work on the big Yak. But I did get the big YAK graphic on the wing tonight. I really like how it is shaping up for looks. She is looking quite sexy. Almost too pretty to even contemplate flying. LOL...yeah, ok. Like that...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

A little progress this weekend. Though I put in another 70 hour work week, I mustarded up some motivation to get a little accomplished on the new 106CS powered Edge. There are only (2) things about the 3w engines that I have kind of love/hate. I love the motors, but I hate the angle of the...

How many times I gotta tell ya to straighten those servo grommets. Don't you know how much it bugs me to not be able to reach in this monitor screen to straighten them? :spongebob:

Umm, negative. I once owned a '70 LeSabre. Not enough room. Trust me. Oh they were a boat, but not like my '66 Bonneville. Now brother, we could put my Behemoth Yak..actually both of them in the trunk of that monstrosity. LOL

Don't know about the rest of you, but I think that scheme is by far the most bad ass scheme on the planet. Ever since I seen it in photos not too long ago...I think it was on that other site, anyway I have loved that scheme. I almost contemplated stripping the covering off my brand new H-9 when...

Believe it or not David...Ebay of all places. Crap, anything you're looking for can be found on eBay. Lol Yup, brand new. However purchased long before 3w started sending them with all the upgrades. I bought this from my buddy who bought it new years ago but never used it. So, on the shelf it...

So no time like the present to install all those new updates on the new 106cs, right? Zactly... First remove the original phenolic carb base and "rubberized" coated reed cage assembly. Sorry everyone. For those that do not know, 3W originally manufactured their engines with phenolic or plastic...

Or do the twisty radio thingy. Bend the knees, lean to one side, jerk the radio up real quick. I dunno. Got a long way to go to learn the proper stance.
