Sport JTEC RADIOWAVE 26% Pitts Model 12

Tuesday night and I've been able to get the right side of the fuse sheeted. It actually went much quicker and way easier than I thought it would. About three hours total from the time I edge glued the right fuse skin, glued it to the fuse, and then a quick sanding to knock off the rough edges...

Thanks, but I think my butt has been kicked real good the last couple of days. Pretty sad when a guy comes home from work at 7 in the evening and the first thing he wants to do is hit the sack. I seriously need to retire again...and stay that way. LOL. So here is the plan for the Pitts...

Thanks guys. I am super excited to be so close to covering. I can't wait to see this 2 winged 3dub packin' beast done. Unfortunately I could not work on it today. My daughters transmission went on a totally bogus journey so I've been doing a swap for her. Perhaps I will have some time tomorrow...

Todays progress was much more fruitful. I got quite a bit done and am now pretty much ready for sheeting on the remaining portion of the fuse. I have done a "LOT" of scratch building on this Pitts. Mainly because there were certain things that I just didn't like. Other things because I wanted it...

Photos from yesterday. Started with extending the belly stringers to allow structure for the intended belly sheeting. Landing gear plate doublers. First section of belly sheeting in place. Rough cut outs of the fuse belly formers. Building the bulkhead for the dowel retention...

Thanks Brett. I did look at your build thread on the other site. I have considered doing mine similar. But after cutting out the correct size piece and laying it in for fit, it'll work. But dang, more weight to the tail I do not want. Considering the weight these things are coming in, I am...

Now there is a comment I've not heard in a coons age. Probably the last time I heard it was when I was a wee lad working with my daddy in the fields. Awe jeez, now my age is showing. Ugh...lol!

Couldn't sleep so I decided to tinker with the Pitts. Got started gluing in the aft bottom fuse stringers. I chose bass wood for the strength and reduced weight over spruce. Balsa can also be used, but really didn't want to take the chance of having them break from picking the plane up. I also...

Beauty Sleep? Boy, you are gonna need a lot of it aint ya? The black glue is IC2000 CA. Specifically made for RC car tires. It's some pretty amazing stuff. You want something really-"REALLY" glued that will not come loose? Yup, that is the schnizzle. For most of the plane, regular CA, Epoxy or...

I had to do a couple of things to the lower wings also. I really got a head of myself and forgot the root end of the wings were supposed have a section of the aileron "NOT" cut off. Ooops... Ah heck, I got that taken care of and then had to sand the leading edge of the wings in from the root...

Wow! What a day. All my kids did their Thanksgiving with "inlaws" and their mother and since "our" thanksgiving is tomorrow, I put today to some VERY good use. I put 10 good hours into the Pitts today and needless to say, I feel as worn out as a full 12 hour day at work. LOL. Pretty sad, Ya...

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. At home, I kept a tradition alive with my kids as they grew through the years. Each year as we gathered to give thanks, we took a minute to extend our thanks for the special people in our lives. With that being said, I myself have grown to really appreciate, look up...

Hey, pretty cool idea. But for myself, I don't think it is much of an advantage on anything smaller than a 35%. Then again, this Pitts is pretty good sized for a small plane. :lol2: I wanted to use the flat style hinges. I was hoping there would be more meat on the trailing edges of the flight...

Thank you. I am trying to stay ahead of the proverbial 8 ball. I've been known to get in a hurry and realize only when it is too late that...ugh, ya dumb a$$, why'd ya do that? Lol I was thinking the very same regrading the covering Kevin. Hence the reason I wanted to sand a little more space...

Sunday night and I am just as beat as I was Saturday afternoon when I got off work. Man, I really feel this working stuff is for the birds. LOL. I made some progress on the Pitts last night and today. My plan was to get the top wings as close to being done as the lower wings as possible. I...
