The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Just got back from a 8 hour day at the field. Man it was nice I there! 73 and sunny with a light breeze. We have 116 members now and there was less than a dozen there all day. I spent a lot of this morning helping two guys get some new airplanes going. One of them had a new Extreme Flight MSX...

Anybody interested in a P-47 Build?

The more build threads the better! Is this a razorback or a bubble?

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Today is our clubs 9/11 Memorial Picnic. Sounds like it may be a little windy, but cool at least. A big break from the recent heat and humidity. The forecast for tomorrow is excellent. 72 and sunny with winds about 5mph. If that holds it will be the first really nice Sunday we've had so far...

Skip Stewart's P3 Revolution, 60cc, Horizon Hobby, NEW!

I doubt it since I stole the basic idea from the Gee Bee R3 Fantasy Racer. But if they want to give me a huge discount one one that would work for me. ;)

    Weighing your plane.

I weigh mine, then I read a lot of weights people post and I think a lot of people are just guessing or weighing in some inaccurate way. I remember reading one guys post where his 50cc Arf with an identical set up as mine, same plane as mine weighed almost two pounds less than mine. Really? To...

ZDZ 90, Install into new EF 94" MXS

I love the light tint, it's just enough. To me it makes it look less plastic and more real, if that makes any sense.

Beginner Giant Scale RC Questions, Let's hear them

Gluing the sheets together before you install them on a wing for example makes it much easier to sand the joint smooth. Otherwise you are trying to glue and sand where you have very little support. A fuse can be a different animal. With all the curves smaller pieces are needed, or even planking.

Starting Your Plane by Yourself, 60ccc or Larger

It's simple and secure and it doesn't interfere with grass cutting at all. I would love to have them on a concrete pad, that would really be nice. We store the conduit / pool noodles on racks on the fence line. You can see them in this pic. It also find it makes a convenient place for my...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I did some more work on my canopy today. I sanded out all the cracks, and then filled the bad spots with Dolphin Glaze, a lightweight pourable polyester filler. I used a really high tech tool to smear the glaze, my finger. I feel that works best one small things. After the glaze set a little...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I was on RealFlight late this afternoon flying a helicopter I had downloaded from the swap pages and decided I really liked the color scheme. That got me thinking, which is always dangerous. So tonight I started fixing a broken canopy that I'm not using anymore from my Trex 550e so I can paint...
