    I feel your pain. I was in the ER twice yesterday. I had heard from others how bad kidney stones are, but now I know just how bad. I've had pain in my life before, but nothing that even comes close.

    Terry I went to measure it last night, and my digital caliper was dead. I measured it with cheap dial caliper and it measured just slightly larger than 1.5" , but it's waaaaay too tight in the socket. I'll try to get a good measurement on it tonight and see what it really is. 38mm and 1.5" are...

    I changed the stab and wing tubes in my Carf Extra to carbon. I was very disappointed when the new wing tube only turned out to be 1.2 ounces lighter than the aluminum one.:( The stab tube made a huge difference. After epoxying blind nuts in it for the stab bolts it still weighed almost 1.5...

    I did a little weighing parts tonight. Mainly the aluminum wing and stab tubes. The wing tube weighs 12.65 ounces and the stab tube was 3 ounces. The previous owner said he needed a pound in the nose to make it balance, and he was running a 3W 106 which isn't exactly light.. Like Bunky and...

    My normal day is 4 flights. My 50 cc planes burn roughly 14 ounces a flight, so 5 gallons would be close to 50 flights. Unfortunately, there are some years where I barely get that many.:(

    Since they were painted in the mold they're not hard to do. I did my Carf a few years ago. I repainted about half of it to change the scheme some and then sprayed a coat of silver pearl over the whole plane and then cleared it.
