    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

Left Wing: I did get the left wing stripped today. I could tell from the covering that I was going to find sheeting damage underneath. Sure enough. That poor ole wing panel has taken quite a beating. I wondered why the travel of these two were off so drastically. The mystery would soon...

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

I sure hope so. I hate the idea of stripping sheeting from glued on foam. Ugh... We'll see how it works out. Ya know Chris, as soon as I posted that, I had remembered that stainless is not as durable as a grade 9. But thank you for reminding me. I am sure I will go back with stronger all...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Not too much done today. Normal weekend with an added bonus of the Daytona 500. I did however get the left wing of the Dalton 260 stripped. Oh what a mess....

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

RIGHT WING: After getting the covering completely removed from the right wing, I discovered it is in fair condition. At least the top is. Other than a few bumps and bruises, the top of the wing is ok. The bottom on the other hand is beat up pretty bad at the tip. Clear indication a dropped...

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

I had a Dave Patrick 330 a couple of years ago. Of course it was grossly over powered with a DLE 55. (Like that's a bad thing...lol) It flew really nice but was also very heavy. I remember the stabs were set up with adjustable incedence. The set screws could be adjusted to compensate for bad...

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

Not sure how old David. But if I had to venture a guess, I would say somewhere around six or so years old. Maybe more. I think the scheme is at least that old. I know the covering is. In trying to remove it as I normally do, it is so thin...like literally whisper thin, it is flaking off like...

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

Sweet, thanks Ortho. I will definitely consider that add on. As for name? Well, since I am doing this for a friend, I'll leave the name callin' to him. She really looks to have been rode pretty hard. But I am determined to whip her into shape.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Good for you Kelly. Very happy you got out and flew. And without a gyro even. Wow!:spongebob: I also got to take my Baby out for a few spins. Sunny, but breezy and chilly. Got three good long flights on her. She did impeccable. My cold numb thumbs however didn't want to cooperate on the last...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Getting ready to load up and head for the field. Sun is shinning and not too terribly cold. Should be really nice when me and the 260 get there. :woohoo!:

    Hangar 9 60cc Corsair Build

I've heard the quality of the 60cc Mustang is not that great. Lots of problems. From what I have heard. It deterred me from getting one. How is the quality of the Corsair?

Pilot RC 37% Edge 540.....Who's Flying it!

Ummm....me. I am. Yo ho..... I do. Fly the 107" Pilot Edge that is. The little purple Edge was just too much fun and I really enjoyed it. But I do like bigger planes so I got my 107" Purple Pilot Beast. Love it, love it, love it. Stable, wickedly capable of anything you are brave enough to toss...

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

I am not absolute authority on tuning, but I can offer what I know has worked for me. Tillotson carbs really aren't too hard to tune once you understand them. Unlike a Walbro or knockoff Walbro, a Tillotson requires "VERY" small adjustments to achieve what others require. A little at a time...

Older 3W and DA for First 40%er

Personally, I am going to go with Terry on this one. If you can afford it and have the time...buy new. However I will say that I have purchased one "nearly" new 3dub from a friend. He has an impeccable reputation and a very trustworthy individual. I don't think you will find a more straight up...

    IMAC Dalton 260 Restoration

Ok...finally made it back. "Baby" has had my undivided attention for the last few days. Got her pretty much squared away and ready to fly again so back to the Dalton. It's just amazing to me that an airframe can withstand a lot of pressure and abuse and still be worthy of keeping. Wasn't it Joe...
