You could ask them... but they are probably out of their muffler bearings.

Me Too! Got tired of waiting, and ya know... if I don't like it I can switch later. I really just want a reliable exhaust/engine combo, and this was the answer IMHO. So the DA w/JTec Pitts (regular) it is for me too. We'll compare notes on it later. :)

I'm thinking this is the way to go as well, unless I'm being sponsored by ES Comp... unless I'm flying a small 50cc or large 35cc plane, the extra power isn't required, nor is the extra hassle of tuning the pipe, and buying different props at $25-80 bucks a prop. I read somewhere that the pipe...

Good to know, Thanks! I like the plug and play method with the Jtec Pitts verses the pipe. I have seen people comment on how tricky the pipe can be to tune and it's very "peaky", and how the Pro-Flow Can doesn't quite it down in comparison to the JTec Pitts, There is some comments on a site of...

AJ Laser 230z 73" Build Thread

I have been at a standstill with my build. Got busy doing other things with the incredible weather here lately. I had to put a new cowl on the Slick, and do a recover on some 40 size tail feathers to keep me flying. Figuring out my exhaust has been exhausting to say the least. I want quiet, but...

DLE35RA VESS 20A 7500 rpm after 7 gallons. Haven't seen over 7600rpms. Been thinking about switching to a VESS 19B or a Carbon 19X8. I think the spool up could by quicker, but is okay as is. Also: Reed block mod, and frank bowman ring.

I have a Vess 20B just sitting at the house that would be perfect. I have heard that it is a lot louder than the Falcon 20X9, a bit less rpm, but performs excellent. I don't know how carbon props hold up to sucking up rocks, but I know the wood will dent and chip. Just lost a Vess 20A last week...

I think I may have found the answer to our exhaust solution. JTec makes a "Large Wrap Around Pitts Muffler for DA 35". I passed over a few posts on rc groups and GiantScaleNews that mentioned this "large Jtec Can" I have no idea if there is any performance issues, but people say that it's super...

Gotcha. The Pitts sounds the simplest and I don't think it'll be as loud as the DLE35RA based on the wrap around design, and suited with a falcon 20X9 it seems pretty unstoppable. There really isn't a whole lot of other people running a different setup right now and I would really rather not be...

Ya man! I used to never post on forums... just steal information. But I like brainstorming with other people, makes the hobby more fun!!! Sounds like you're still on the fence with which one to get too. Any more thoughts?

ES Composites Pipe ES35G: $205 + 12 S&H, 3.88oz, 2"DIA, 23.5"TE-LE Length - ES Comp recommends 27-28" header length from face of piston to first baffle. Although great results with full length header compared to cutting it (25mm drop). Seems to be the peoples choice based on how quite they are...

Good to know, Thanks! Enterprise: Is your Small Pro Flow Can a front or rear dump? I can never remember the differences between the two. PM me what you want for it. I like the idea of a canister for reducing the sound without compromising power loss, and maybe lasting a while longer with...

Leading Edge Measure from the side of the fuselage where the wing root (where the wing meets the fuse) is at the leading edge, then measure towards the wing tube. The CG should end up 1" in front of the wing tube is what I read. So in other words it should balance out on the forward side of the...

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Copper RTV seems like a cheap, readily available method. DNA is a pretty mild alcohol IMO, MEK works the best... but is nasty stuff. Brake clean is 50% Acetone, but also has Toluene which is also pretty nasty stuff... so wear gloves. Acetone is my fav, It is the best cleaner for aluminum, I...

    DLE 35RA Muffler bolts

Maybe try cleaning the bolt threads and the cylinder threads really good with brake cleaner or something equivalent? I didn't use any locktite, just nordlock washers. I am planning on going to the field with my new cowling this evening, played around with baffling a bit, we'll see how it holds...

Just saw this! Super bummer! make sure to post this in the DLE35RA Muffler Bolts thread too, with what you tried and what happened. Might help some folks in the future.

Yup Good info!! It seems more user friendly and economical to just go with the Jtec Pitts Muffler. At my field I tend to get bird watchers trickling through.... So I hate to be that guy. I also don't want to cough up the extra dough. Complicated, Noise Reduction, & Performance vs Simplicity &...
