    Prop advice in general

Briansifsof flies at some crazy altitudes I believe, he might chime in to help.

Yeah, straight-on winds are no problem. But how often do you get a perfect wind down the runway? Doesn't ever happen for me. :)

15 mph will make the 5X" planes teeter-totter on landings, the 89 has enough mass it just plows through.

    2nd Annual 3DHS Mid-America Fly-Low-In - June 27-30, 2013 Cape Girardeau, MO

Haha, I kick it old school. I might even splurge and lay an air mattress in the bed of my truck. LOL

Should I reserve a spot if I plan on setting up a tent beside my truck, or is it a free-for-all on primitive camping?

    72" Extra 330SC

I'm pretty sure mine is 3", but I'll measure when I get home. (If I remember.. I'm at a cookout right now, and the beers be mighty tasty!)

I'm pretty sure I'd rather have Joe at the sticks than myself -or anyone else for that matter- if something went wrong!! Thanks Josh

It's a pin that is hollow, and has a slit down the length of it. The tail pulley shaft has a hole slightly smaller than the pin, so the pin collapses as you insert it. It keeps the pulley from spinning on the shaft, and if it fails, the tail rotor will quit spinning.

Two flights on the 6HV, one on the 89 so far. Second flight on the heli, I landed and when I was going over it, noticed the roll pin for the tail pulley was dangling, almost completely fell out! Glad I saw it before it cost me!

I'm in the same boat, Manta. Although I don't have kids, my father in law is cooking for a grad party tomorrow, so I got the "you need to go help him" look from the ol lady..... Which is fine, I'll take the heli and 89 Slick along, fly in between turns on the grill, and drink beer all day for...

Wow, that thread is full of win. I'm glad I only use FG for the classifieds. I'd have been pissed if I had a plane up when that happened. It's annoying enough when someone does it on a sim, let alone if I've got a couple thousand dollar toy in the air at the time.

You can buy the patch strips at your LHS, somewhat cheaper than full rolls.

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

If you have any other planes that use 4S packs, you could get away with just buying a motor wound for 8S, and share batts with another plane. Just an idea.
