The NEW King of Standard Size Servos - HSR-M9382TH

So here's the thing you guys don't understand about the HSB-9380TH/HSB-9381TH/HSR-M9382TH, which I'm happy to talk about because i'm so passionate about this particular technical aspect of the hobby: First off, the 9382 has little to no use with airplanes, so disregard it entirely. Secondly...

Discussion Help to find a true 150 cc 3D plane.

39lb and change with a ZDZ180. I didn't have a DA150L hanging around otherwise I woulda chucked that on the nose and saved the 180 for a much larger airplane. The 150 on the 115 does fly pretty damn amazing though and I wouldn't be searching for more power. As is it has an overabundance of power.

Andrew designed the 115 Laser for a 150, it flies amazing on that engine.

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Brandon Reimschiissel was in town this week so we met up to fly my 105 AJ Laser. As a heads up to forum goers here, I am no longer affiliated with Hitec RCD USA, Inc. I can still answer tech questions but I am no longer able to speak on behalf of the company.

Mechanical setup is how you physically have the airplane setup. If you notice it tucks one way or another in knife edge it can usually be alleviated by placing your batteries higher or lower in the fuselage.

Does it just fine. Usually it's a mechanical setup that causes this.

    That's a bright idea. :D:oblong: I use a SkyRC BD200, but it doesn't balance.

Rebuilt 7, 9380's last night with new cases. 400+ flights and still impressive that the gears are as tight as new. Off to a new owner today :)

Discussion Flying Fields, How Big is Enough?

Most clubs I've been to have at least a 50ft wide by 300-600ft long runway. 300ft is the bare minimum I would say, this is plenty for most models to land on (including high speed prop planes and jets) and still short enough to be manageable.

Did a little slopin' and a little tail draggin' this weekend. And then I chipped a prop....:oblong::mad:

    DA120 running rich?

Just make sure your tune is correct and you're using a good oil ratio with a good oil. I run Redline 32:1 (I have one engine that needs 32:1, otherwise it'd be at 40:1) through mine and I never really get a strong oil buildup even after a couple dozen flights.

2 different motor manufacturers, both coming out of China. DLE seems to have their own proprietary components, can't speak much about the other brand although it wouldn't surprise me if DLA was sourcing parts from a couple different manufacturers to piece their engines together.

The brass bushing for the center pin begins to wallow out the pocket it is molded into inside of the servo case. This causes some slop in the geartrain since the center gears can move just ever so slightly instead of being fixed in place.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Bought some replacement servo cases to rebuild the 7, 9380's in my 105 Laser. 400+ hard flights on the servos and they're finally ready for some reworking. But the wind was howling 20-25mph and it was drizzling constantly and temps were in the 40's- for this SoCal boy that works outside, that...

It may be NIB, but it's close to 20 years old and probably won't program much these days with us discontinuing all of the old 5xxx series servos. The latest iteration is the HFP-30.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

We can agree to disagree, but the fact remains: we have servo tech that other manufacturers are trying to acquire. I also happen to know for fact that some popular high end servos of other brands are grossly overstated in their capabilities. Spencer left Hitec out of a contract dispute, not...
