you were over amping that 12l with that prop\voltage combo. 17" and the amps would have dropped. But when the voltage goes up, amps go down. Just like at your house, 240v will do the same at less amps than 120. Some like 8s because it's easier on the gear in this regard. My 8s setups...

    74" Edge 540

Yes the 12L is a burner on 8s, that's because the motor has a higher kv(stated 355kv), but it is the recommended motor for 6s. The 14L is the recommended motor for 8s( Hacker motor). I had a 12l on my 74 on 8s that didn't last very long. Huge difference than the Scorpion 330kv 4025-16 I...

    74" Edge 540

Who and what prop? I've never heard of anyone flying 3d on a 6s 330kv. I run a 330 on 8s with a 19x8 or 20x8. Seems the best kv for 6s is at least 380, I think some liking a 400-420kv, not going less. I would check with Ken at Subsonic first.

    74" Edge 540

Why would you want to do this? If you have a bunch of 6s batterys, stick with 6s, if you have to buy, stick with 8s. Much simpler to just pick one, then carry that through all your 30cc planes. If you plan on going 50cc electric, then 6s is the best option as they can be paired up for a...

    Throttle Curves

Ok Thanks Joe! I'm going toward the linear electric feel since I have more electric planes and the 87 is real twitchy at the bottom. Rob

    Throttle Curves

Joe, How do you go about setting throttle curves on gas and electrics. I guess no curves on the electrics (perhaps negative on an electric). Just by feel to try to match gas and electrics? I was flying my e-72 and gas 87 back to back yesterday and really noticed the quicker throttle...

Subtrim vs. Programmer for Centering Servos

At a Huckfest Team pilots were building a 87, they grabbed a programmer first thing. When I got my 87 I bought a programmer, to date never used it. I did play with it once, a bit harder than radio programming, for me not as intuitive. But in the end I didn't use it and got the tip...

    Dual rates

Lets dust off this thread. So is a snap rate somewhere in the middle of high and low? Or perhaps a combo of the 2.
