Ridge runt is getting closer by the day! Dremeled out the balsa nose and added a custom 4oz fishing weight shaved down to 3.4oz. Opened up the lower portion of the tail with lightening holes. RTF the ridge runt is at 18.6oz just need to secure the receiver, weight, and battery. She’ll be under...

Almost got the Ridge Runt wrapped up! Without the battery it's 14oz, It needs about 4.75oz in the nose to balance... ouch. The Original ridge Runt specs are 18-24oz RTF so I will be at just under 19oz RTF Unless I can figure out a way to lighten the tail. Being a T-tail it's already pretty...

That's what I would do - but lots of ways to do have the same basic result.

I cannot see the vertical member very well or the back side. But I'd razor saw the vertical member from the cracked joint and add a strip of ply/or G10 that's approx 1/2" long in between the vertical member and the stringer. Then add a "T" or "X" patch on the back side (inside) in similar fashion.

Covered the wings and ailerons the last couple days for the ridge runt. Not sure why my photos are sideways as they are upright when I uploaded them. Gotta add some trim now!

I do like some of the new features, but it needs to be configurable a bit. It's way to bright. I see we lost Admin pinned threads and it was replaced with Forum Threads which is fine by me. I like the staff and members and guests online, cannot say I care about profile posts (maybe it could be...

I've had to re-login, yes the site look has changed. Awful amount of white. Currently using Microsoft Edge so I think we've covered that it's not browser specific. The ads have always been this way for me the last year or so. Super annoying pop-ups and makes it not user friendly to the point...

Well, I decided to use CA hinges. Getting everything mocked up and threw my gear inside and weighed it. Turns out she’s heavier than I was hoping. I’m guessing RTF at 0.8lbs or about 14oz. The original ridge runt was RTF 18-22oz so who knows! She’s 50”

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% PA-28 Cherokee Build

Thanks for sharing that. Very Interesting. I'm curious how much torque something like that can handle. Seems like it would be relying a lot on the mechanical integrity of the bend radius, G10, and Allen grub-hub screw especially.

That just means your immune response was better than mine. Mix and matching vaccines is a good thing as is your response to the booster. I have a friend who has had all three... Pfiser, Moderna, and J&J... he felt terrible but still went for a run... even took my dog with him! he crazy LOL. I...

Keep in mind that a lot of these wing servos are boxed in... meaning the have a little support (foam) on the sides and lower case. A lot of glider pilots wrap the case in packaging tape and glue them in place for extra rigidity. Note there are no vibration grommets... these are specifically...

Thanks for the ideas. The Ridge Runt is just a slope glider, servos are pretty quick, so If there is any torsion in the hinge line one sure the covering would just rip. Hoping to be rolling around and utilize them as flaperons. I like the idea of having the hinge line on top. Just need to figure...

I’m getting there. Last hurtle is hinging my very thin ailerons… I’m going to use CA hinges… I think…. Part of me wants to just bevel the bottom and let the covering be the hinge… thoughts??? TE and Aileron LE is only 1/8” thick! Big debacle for a modernized thin airfoil. I think foam core F3/5...
