Certainly it requires a new build thread.

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Took the old ChubCub out for some fun this morning. Boy I forgot how much fun it was. Only put one flight on it and I think that will be it. Time to build a new and improved one and hang this one up. Video will be up tomorrow. Don’t have my laptop with me today.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

A very rough piece. The fuse I assembled it with is a newer fuse I had built to change the way it flew some. That didn’t get sent off with the rest of the plane so I’m using it instead of risking the original as it’s in very poor shape.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Blast from the past. This is the very first plane I designed back in 2014. After flying it for a year it went on a world tour all over the US and even out of the states once to different probros. All that was asked was to get some pictures and video of them flying it and before they where done...

Said good bye to the paintball shoot causality.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Have thought about it but would be a lot of work to me as then fuel lines would have to be disconnected when breaking the plane down. 10 ounces should be plenty. Last 20cc plane I had had a 12oz tank on it and I would make two 8 minute flights on one tank before filling back up and there was...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Hatches are easy. No thought involved really the way I do them. Just center it between R1 and R2. I like the front of it to be about 1/2” back from the main spar and on a plane that size I like it to be at least 3” square if not 4” square so there’s plenty of room to reach my hand inside. So...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Paintball shoot fun fly was a big hit today at the field. My daughter also was a big hit. Was a bit breezy but we had plenty of foamies to shoot down as well as I threw my old beat up profile up for some fun. First they knocked an aileron off which makes t interesting trying to stay in HA flight...

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Unless something major happens I'm going flying tomorrow. Our club is doing a paintball shoot again so that should make for some fun times.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I know I had the next rib out drawn with the hole in it already in case people wanted to carry it out one more bay. I guess one thing for all to remember is to not drill those holes until they have the phenolic in hand that they will use. I drew them to match the phenolic I have in my shop but...

New Product Strick Pro Grip Radio Trays and Harnesses

Yeah I never got the idea of a tray style radio. Though I also thought I would never be able to fly without using a neck strap but getting into DLG's forced me to learn how.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Ok I gotcha. I would have to open my cad file to look and see but I would assume it’s either 3/8” wide or 1/4” wide and still 5/8” thick.

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I’m assuming your talking about the pieces above and below the tube that glue to the tube. Part 10 when I look at the plans is the top nose piece. Those pieces are dependent on the thickness you want your fuse to be. I designed it to be a 5/8” thick fuse but many of my Probro buddies think it...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

It is very possible. I based A off of another profile in this size I once had that had that extra piece running the length of the fuse and it had no tail twist at all which is something a lot of profiles this size and up start to suffer from.

I’m not on my computer right now. This is the screen shot of the one in the first post that I would use if I’m building. I feel it will be more rigid with a slight wieght penelty but I don’t think it will be much.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Made a second marking gauge over the past few days. I determined with the first one that the rod used was too big and I also didn’t like having to screw it in place as it took away from the looks. On this one I did a counter bore in the handle and it’s a nice press fit so it all just holds...
