Mark the center of the tube and then mark on the tube where it would exit the fuse so you know how much would go into the wing as is. Just lay it on top and take a pic.

Socket into the wing is 18 1/4 inches deep and the width of the fuselage is 6 1/16 wide at the location the tube goes through the fuselage. The tube is 36 inches long. Therefore 18 1/8 times 2 is 36 1/4 and the fuselage is 6 = 42 1/4 long. So 42 -36 = 6 short total or 3 inches short per side. Will get a picture later not able to do it right now

Getting ready to make the ailerons on the table is sheeting and the styrofoam with carbon strips glued in place and preparing everything for the vacuum bag. Will hair spray the balsa to help reduce the epoxy soaking into the wood.

This is a picture of the two ailerons in the vacuum bag. It is all done and now just have give it time hopefully it all works out. It is under 8 inches of vacuum.

Well can’t sit around all day looking at a plastic bag with some ailerons in it I needed some horns for the ailerons and did not have any and would take 3 to 4 weeks to get them ordered to get to me so I thought why not try to make a few. Found some material that I believe will do the job.

Hi @TonyHallo belive you have the same kit in a box, can you do me a favour and measure the length of the aluminum wing tube please. Mine is 36 inch long and it should be 42 in my case. Thanks

My tube is 36" long as well, the socket material is shorter than the tube by several inches so there's no way I could make 18 1/4" sockets unless there is another socket in the kit. It is below a cardboard separator in the box and didn't want to take all the wood out to have a better look.

I got two paper tubes in my kit and had to cut off about 6 1/2 inches of the paper tube to fit the wing and what is left will be used for the fuselage with 1/2 inch to spare and the other 6 1/2 piece is spare from the other tube.

So there must be another socket in the box. The wing tube is quite a bit different from what I'm use to, I think I will but a carbon tube when I get ready to build it.
