A piece of music wire from the LHS makes great landing gear for the buck.5 and similar planes.....much more "springy" than the stock wire.

SnowDog,

Here are a couple pics of the vyper...its the 65" as well. Will be on 6s with a hacker and CC 100esc.
Ive had it since fall, but still havent flown it. The build is taking longer that expected due to other planes:) It needs two aileron servos and thats all. Winter here in Vermont, it's tough for me to maiden outdoors something that nice ya know? It can wait another month or so. One thing this hobby has taught me is patience. lol

Tadman, that's a pretty plane...same version and color scheme that I have...maidened my last summer and I CANT WAIT for spring so I can fly it some more. Thing flies amazingly well. I'm learning patience: God grant me patience and give it to me now! ;)

Hey guys - need some help. I am in need of picking up spinners for my 3dhs planes that are yet to be built. While I was over at WRAM I went to the TruTurn booth and set up an order for a few of theirs to outfit each plane and was astounded at the total of $175+ for 4 spinners, backplates and adapters. Now I am questioning whether I should just skip them all together since they had an issue with one of them not having a lite backplate (difference of .75 oz) and needing to ream one of the plates. Should I cancel and get something else that is cheaper? What are you guys doing for spinners? Here is what I need

42" AJ Slick w/ Omega - (TT ordered: 40mm Red Anodized $40)
48" EPP Extra w/ Omega - (TT ordered: 40mm Red Anodized $40)
58" Edge w/ Motrofly - (TT ordered: 63mm Red Anodized $50)
63" Osiris w/ Hacker - (TT ordered: 52mm Black Anodized $40)

prices are approx as there were some adapters and stuff too and they did include shipping and a show discount. looking at the 3dhs site, all of the EF spinners are less than $10.

Thanks
Josh

SnowDog,

Ive got a buddy out there who flies in Schaumburg. Ned Brown field. Ill be heading out there this summer to fly and watch the Chicago Air show. We should get together and fly! Ive got my 3dhs 74 Edge there at his house ill let you fly:) That plane is fun!

I've been to Ned Brown FP many times...a very busy (small) field...and some really nice guys. I'd love to get together - even invite you out to my club field in Ringwood (little bit more room there)...I'll fly your 74" Edge (I've got the 58" Edge) and I'll let you fly my 71" Slick...sounds like a great plan to me!

Oh yeah...if you need someone to give your 74" Edge regular "maintenance flights" so it doesn't get too dusty, just let me know! ;)

I don't use any TT spinners; could never justify the cost.

The EF spinners work great especially for the lighter planes. Great Planes also makes some decent spinners with an aluminum back plate.

Cancelled the order - snow, don't worry I didnt tell Wendi at TT it was because of your post.

Well I feel better! Now I can order the Motrofly for the edge, the servos and spinners for the same price :)

Thanks!
