I've been really enjoying the dle 35 on my AJ Slick. I am running the stock muffler. I tried a 20x8 protek. It was not really a good match. I have found the dle really likes its rpms. Id love to here how it does with a tuned pipe. I think a 20x6 would be good and maybe a 20x8 after a really good break-in.

Doing some vinyl tonight. First time with "real vinyl" so I'm starting with the sfgs. The Hover 20x6 cf looks very nice. Should have the engine Tuesday!

Just make sure the area you're putting the vinyl is clean before you apply it. I enjoy putting vinyl on actually. It's pretty fun and the plane(usually)looks great after

Looking forward to some pics

My motor quit on me today as i was coming in for a landing. I heard a click right before it stopped running. I thought my idle may have been too low at first but when i tried to start the engine again all compression was gone! I'll be sending it back to Tower for service and let you guys know what the say. The engine never showed any signs of over heating or anything so i was pretty surprised this happened. I was really loving the OS and pipe on this plane so hopefully it gets fixed so i can continue flying with this setup.

Damn,
Sorry to read this! You've had so much bad luck with engines in this plane... I hope they fix it and return it quickly.

Man that stinks. Cracked head? I assume the dead stick went without incident.
Good luck. Part of the game with any of this stuff. We run it pretty hard.
My DLE should arrive tomorrow.
The vinyl is going on but I have to get Santi to redo one star (I got dupes for the sfgs). Not worried, he should be able to whip one out.
Keep us posted on service with Tower.

Yeah i was almost to the runway on my final approach when it quit so i made it down safely no problem. Not really sure what happened but everything looks good from the outside. I would open it myself but i'd rather send it in first. I emailed Tower last night so they we'll see what they say.

With it suddenly losing all compression like that and with no external signs of damage I would imagine you have a stuck ring. Let us know what Hobby Services says!

That doesn't sound good.

I don't know what i did though cause it was running like a champ before this happened. It never sagged on up-lines or wanted to quit. Had it tuned well and was VERY pleased with how well it was running. Smooth and powerful and never missed a beat in the air. I suppose i was rather rough on it in the air though.

Hopefully they get it fixed, i really want to continue to enjoy this setup. I emailed Tower last night so we'll see how they handle it. I'll keep you guys updated.
