78'' Extra

Hone don't stress bout the rpm that engine sounds fine twins make torque so you shouldn't need to rev it as hard

Thanks, sounds sweet. I like some grunt. I wonder what's the biggest prop it'll swing.

My old mld35 could swing a 21x8 the vvrc 40 SHOULD have more torque so I don't see why it wouldn't swing a 21x8 hard. If all else fails whack a DLE50 in the 78 that'll get it crackin

Looks like a nice engine... I love the smooth idle at the beginning. How heavy is that yak? Just kind of comparing my perception of punch-out from a hover with my DLE 35 powered 70" slick.

I have not weighed it yet. I meant to and had the fish scale with me. Maybe next outing. It was just under 12 pounds with the GT33.

It was spinning the Xoar at a little over 7k. I liked that prop and will order another one eventually.

The manual says 21x6 is the biggest prop, but for this airframe I know I will not like it as it likes a little speed

Ok, that makes sense then. My punch-out looks about the same but your plane is a pound heavier.

It has more punch than my 71 slick on GT33. The other candidate for this motor was my M38 Powered 74 Edge, but it is not nice I did not want to muck it up.

I am Finally getting mine wrapped up. With my 7 yr old out of school it is daddy jitney time to activities and "play with me" nearly every day (that she loves and I love doing for her)! Plus family vacation away last week and work (missed the NJ FLI- bummed but again priorities and she /they (wife too) are priceless :)). Gyro and gang made us feel like we were there with the "media" coverage. I'm making a hole in the schedule next year for that event. It all takes a chunk out of flying time and building time. Priorities! However, last night I mounted the throttle servo box and will have the linkage done today. That was my last real hurdle before cranking it up. If I had brought it to the NJFLI a "swarm" of help under a pop up would have had me airborne in an hour! I also picked up Gary's dx8 and am having to reprogram my fleet. Love the radio but you know how setups go. Big flyin up here this weekend and I want this thing doing breakin flights at a minimum. Whaa Whaa Whaa!

one step at a time works for me! It took me a while ;) to get my 71 Slick finished, but when I focused on one task each day, progress became more consistent. And that one task was sometimes pretty small, but every step got me closer.

Thanks, so true. I think I'll have it done in a day or two max. Appreciate the support.
