By the way @Hinckley Bill, when you say the original owner are you speaking of my airframe? Because it had no mounting holes of any kind in or on it, i.e. never been assembled....

No Robert...yours never was owned by anyone, factory new

I'm speaking about the one I'm now working on...purchased it from a gentleman in Nevada but declined the 4 cylinder, as I always thought it was just too much

Did some work and got the DA-150 mounted.....will put it on the side for a while to work on my H-9 Ultimate as it's ARTF other than changing out rudder servos in tail for pull pull setup

Those look like some really long stand-offs.. Was that mount modified or did it come shorter for the quad?

Well the AW made it to the field and even made a half a circle around the field. It went together as expected with the lower wing wiring being the only PITA. Fired it up at the start station, ran it up as far as I could hold it as there is some serious pull coming from this 3W with that 32x10. So I taxied out and started down the runway, just as it became airborne I noticed it had started surging. I pulled the throttle back some in hopes it would stay running long enough to make the turn back and it did and it landed as nicely as one could ask. After returning home and going through it turns out the sealant some how went into the pulse hole of the gasket and was plugging it up mostly. So I pulled the entire assembly apart and cleaned every spec of the sealant off and reassembled it, run's like a top again.
There is a video but it is not worth trying to upload and post, maybe the next time. But I did get one pic on with phone.

Robert,

Based on how the firewall and everything is locked together I believe that it was made specifically for the quad.....stand-offs are roughly 2 1/4"....plus ~1/2" for each wood mount (front and back).

Not thrilled with the setup but it works.

Concern I have now is for the overall width of the motor when the spark plug caps are put on....it appears that some cowl 'mods' will be required.

Any chance you could shoot a photo or two of your engine compartment with the top half of of the cowl removed, as I'd like to see the fit of yours with everything mounted?

I did notice that it seemed to be balanced real well and kind of a floater. Working on getting the several seconds of flight edited from the rest of what the wife recorded and will post it when I can.
Still can't believe it lifted as soon as it did, I guess I need to stop doing the runway pass and just shoot for the moon as more often than not it goes airborn.
