Damn I'm hungry
Don't know if you want to spend the funds but when I was flying Futaba's 14 channel Rx's I always matched up a Smart-Fly power expander with them. They have a "compact" micro that the Rx plugs into. Has dual battery inputs and is or can be turned on and off with a pin / flag failsafe switch.....

Picked up a new device a few weeks ago, but haven’t put it in the airplane yet.
With the fancy remote, I’m not sure if I’ll turn on the airplane or unlock the car??!!!
They are great love the unit works well. Did not get the remote but still nice unit great for setting up multiple servos.

Maybe this topic needs its own thread.....sorry Dave! Get back to work on that Yak! lol
No apology needed @Bartman,

You guys can share all the information like this you want. I know it will help me. Maybe it will help someone else who is bored enough to read this thread too. . . . ..

As it turns out, my flying Buddy who gave me my H9 260 sent me an email and told me he had a Powerbox Competition system that he bought for his Carden and decided not to use it. Funny thing is, The hole in the fuse is for a Powerbox Sensor Switch that used to be in the plane. I inquired as to how much he wanted for it and he has not responded yet.

Hey Kelly, I have seen those Smart Fly units and I'd like to try one of them in a plane.

Hey Wade, it probably does both. . . . . . . :lol2:. On a more serious note, that is a nice looking unit. . . . . . :big_yes:.

Booma Smart Bus Extreme 2S with Remote Switch. Had been watching the videos when one of these popped up in the classifieds for a good price.

Loaded with features - http://boomarc.com/en/smart-bus-extreme.

Main reason I bought it is the built in voltage regulation. Want to run LiPo batteries but don’t have HV servos. I’ve only played with it on the bench so far, but seems to be a very well made unit.

Hey Fellas,

Just popped in for a little Yak 55 update. I ordered my servos Friday afternoon from @pawnshopmike Friday afternoon and look what showed up today. . . . . :brian-banana:. The other things I ordered on Friday were the ignition battery and the receiver batteries.

It wasn't long after I opened up the box though, before I realized what a dumb a__ I am. . . . . :face-palm:. Most of you already figure out where I'm going with this. Anyhow, plain as day, the side of the servo case of the DS1220's it says Li-FE 6.6V (and I think it says "2 cell" too). These should be PLENTY strong for the control surfaces of my Yak, no problems, right? Wrong. . . . . . . :very_angry:. Later on last Friday evening, my dumb a__ ordered three 2900mAh 2 cell Li-Ion batteries that we all know are rated for 7.4V. . . . . . :steamer::steamer::steamer:. I thought I was doing so well because the Li-Ion's were on sale for like $49.00 each. The only bright side to this entire fiasco is that my battery hadn't been shipped yet, so I was able to exchange the batteries for three 6.6V batteries. Of course, the saga doesn't end here because the Li-Fe batteries were not on sale so they ended up costing me almost twice as much as the Li-On batteries. Sometimes I wonder where my brain is. . . . .. Now, I know some of you are sitting back and thinking "why didn't you (me) just buy a couple of voltage regulators and be done with it?" Well, IMHO, a voltage regulator is just another possible failure point in the plane that I didn't want to have to worry about.

The last thing I need to do is send my 3W100 back to the G Man for a little TLC. If the weather is Nice Friday afternoon, I would like to pull my Yak out and put all of the servos in it and then I'll be one step closer to getting this bird back in the air where it belongs. . . . . . :yesss:. Stay tuned Fellas as this comical soap opera continues. . . . . :lol2:.

I think you’ll like the Li-Fe packs. I run them in all my gassers.
