I like 'em "BIG"!
I say yes.... there really is no need for an extremely high torque servo for throttle. As long as it is a good quality servo. I use Hitec 5665's on all my throttle setups. HV, Digital, metal gear and torque is around 130. Which is still way more than needed. But for 45 bucks, pretty tough to beat that price for setup. The MKS777's should do fine with your style of flying. I stepped up the program on my setups. Mainly because, originally I was using 7954's on my 260. Mild flying, she was fine. But the more aggressive I have been getting with it, I noticed some "blow-back" on the elevators. I considered upping the setup to 2 per elevator half, but chose to swap them out for the 7950's instead. I noticed an immediate and definite improvement. My Sukhoi has 7950's throughout. 2 per aileron, 2 per elevator, 2 on the rudder. I can't believe how "solid" and "precise" this plane flies. I took mine out for a whirl today and just flew IMAC sequences with it. I could not have asked for a finer bird. You will absolutely love your Sukhoi. Good luck with her. She's a fine bird indeed.Reviving a old thread. Thinking about using the Chief Aircraft sale to buy servos for my Sukhoi. Strongly considering MKS HV777 servos. I've seen 2 and 4 servos for the elevator, surely two 777's are enough elevator power for my mild flying. Do I save a few bucks and order a cheaper MKS for the throttle?
Thanks
