Manual states,Do not have to have the top wing on as well. Do think it will help you balance the plane.
Sorry did not know that I have always had to balance a biplane with both wings. But if Pau has figured it out with one it makes life a lot easier.Manual states,
"It’s time to check the CG and get our batteries mounted. Make sure you have the prop and spinner mounted. You will not need the top wing for this."
The picture's show it without the top wing, struts, and wires.

And thanks to a fella on another forum reminding me, I took a look and there are mounts in the tail for rudder servo's. So that should help a lot in not adding any weight.
