Man you do know how to put an Iron to work! You a SUPA STAR :yesss:.
Thank you Kelly, I am not sure about the SUPA STAR thingy, but I do like to cover. I just may be getting a little better over the years. LOL

A thin black pinstripe between the white and the green patterns? That would really enhance this scheme.
That is definitely a possibility. Silver between the black and the white looks awesome too.(Fuse) Or maybe a thin silver stripe separating the green and white? Guess we'll visit that once I get to the fuse and main wings. Thank you for your comments.

A shorter day than usual today allowed for a little time on the 330. Last night I did the measuring and reset the firewall to "0" down thrust and about 1.25 degrees right thrust. I had high hopes it would be the right amount. Once in place with epoxy and retaining bolts, I clamped it into position and called it a night. Today, after removing the clamps from the firewall I sanded the motor box sides and bottom flush with the rest of the structure. Thankfully it looks just about right.

Once the sanding of the motor box sides was complete, it was time to set the 157cs on and drill the retaining holes in the firewall. Two hours on a ladder looking down at the 157 and the firewall, slightly adjusting it for orientation. Then readjusting it again until I was satisfied it was perfect. A couple of my clamps came in handy for this step. I clamped down on side of the mounting lugs on the engine while drilling the opposite side bolt holes in the firewall. Dropped in a bolt into each of the two holes. Then reversed the procedure for the other two holes. Ok, now the "Beasty" 157 is now in place. I gotta say, I do love a "Redhead" up front.

Now on with the cowl to check the fit and dead center of the prop shaft. Hmm, what do you know about that? My hopes worked out great. The placement is perfect. I've been setting my firewalls this way for awhile now and haven't had any issues. So I figure if it ain't broke....

Dang, that lil ole "one fity seven" looks so small inside the cowl of this big ole bird. Crazy...this plane is nearly the same size as my Big Behemoth Yak (2)

Tomorrow I am going to start covering either the wings or the fuse. Really have not decided yet. But either way, I will get something more done on the Big 330. Well, that is "AFTER" the Behemoth Yak (2) and I spend a little time together at the field tomorrow. My son wants to take his DLE 222 powered PAU Edge. So why not put 8 jugs in the air instead of a couple. LOL. Two big planes, eight cylinders and zero responsibility. What a life. LOL.

Guess I better get hold of Wings West RC and get my paint ordered huh?

More to come gents.

I actually got quite a bit accomplished on the 330 the last couple of days. Besides getting the 157 reed housing updated, I test fit the headers and canisters inside the fuse. I think they are going to work great. I also got busy on that covering. Lots to do, but slowly getting there. Before I started on the covering this afternoon, I took some time to get my fuse electronics basically layed out and mostly installed. I am going about this restoration a little differently on the 330 than I usually do. I am wanting to get most of the "Guts" inside the fuse done before I cover it. Seems to make sense to me....

Canister and Header test fit/Throttle linkage test fit.

I made some rails for the Smart Fly Power Expander Pro to sit on. I used 1/4" x 1/2" Bass Wood.

Pretty much got things where I want them. Now I just need to start adding wiring harnesses.

I have the elevator extensions made up, throttle servo and harness in place, Smart Fly Pin Switch harness in place. Rudder servos connected and also have the ignition harnesses in place. There really isn't much more I can do until the fuse is completely covered. I will go back and install the aileron multi-plex harnesses and fuel tank after the covering is done. But at least this much is done. Now...
On to covering. I dug out my handy dandy duster to clean off any last little bit of dust. And away we go....

From bare bones to White.... Oh so very white. LOL

Yes, I know...I have one heck of a clutter mess going on. But know what? I do it...cuz I can and I ain't got nobody telling me to clean it up. LOL. I am going to head to the field tomorrow to see some of my out of town buds. IMAC competition at our filed this weekend. So tomorrow I am going to take the Big Yak out and burn off some gas once they wrap it all up. Then back home to do more covering. I think I will add some color to the fuse. Stay tuned, more to come.

Looking good you were a little slow their for a couple of weeks but it’s full steam ahead. The black carbon look on the inside of the plane is that all carbon or covered in carbon it does make look special.

I am not sure it will be full steam ahead. I do what I can, when I can. Fortunately I have had the past two weekends off. Otherwise, I would not have made it this far yet. I expect I won't be seeing too many more weekends off until the end of this year. Just the way work goes. Then again, maybe....we'll have to wait and see.

The carbon inside is from a very large roll of carbon fiber vinyl covering I purchased from ebay. It was like dirt cheap for a huge roll and I wanted to see what I could do with it. (I never have been able to pass up a good deal) So, it is getting applied to different projects. Now that the covering of the fuse is underway, once completed I want to do as much of the inside of the fuse as I can. (Cheap mans Extreme Flight)

I had planned to take the 212cs powered Behemoth Yak to the field today and get in a few flights. Looks like mother nature has other ideas. Rain on the horizon and it is starting to sprinkle soooo.....guess I will just stay home and add some color to my 330 fuse.

Must say I like that. Can you give a decryption how you go about putting one colour over the other and not getting air trapped in between. You are using Ultracote.
Excellent idea and one I would be tuned in to.

I have done Ultracote over Ultracote and it was a challenge, but came out successful. I generally put Monocote over ultracote, but at the time I simply could not find the color I wanted except in Ultracote.

Also I would like to know how you guys re-shrink your ultracote that has had graphics put over it?
